AudioQue AQ20k
Wow, its getting more and more scary by the day. Losing a lot of confidence in this amp. And I am not starting an AQ bandwagon, I mean its known they are cheap amps. They also do a good bit of power for that price and if you are careful, they work. Trust me, this wasn't the amp of my choice, my budget decided that. Hoping for something else in the future, preferably a sundown or crescendo.

Crescendo Audio?
It would be cool if it was true!

We gotta give it a chance before we throw it's integrity out the window. Maybe they went above and beyond? Who knows. The low price scares me for that amount of power out of a single board though. Fire extinguishers are nice!

Sweet, hoping it works out well!

AudioQue AQ20k
OK, that must have been put up before I checked again, it was morning on the east coast the first time I checked. 3 1/0 gauge connections? Geeze... Oh, and over 2000 amps of current draw at 12V....... I might put this on a Sony Explod 10 and do some damage, due to the fact I would no longer have money or room for anything else with all the batteries and alts.

So I saw the beast is apparently for sale now? Its on the order link, but didn't see it on the site earlier. Anyone willing to take the first stab at it and get us some results?

Going to do the Seas CA22RNX 8 in the doors with the Vifa XT25 in the pillars, head level on-axis to the driver seat. Going to use the Arc Audio FD 4150 bridged to the 8s and might get the Audison SRx4 and bridge that to the tweeters. Still considering amps but guess I got it figured out for the most part. So thanks everyone, j-roadtatts, and ///M5 especially. Once I get everything I will be sure to make a nice build log!

Crescendo Audio?
Sorry guys, I was just making a playful smartass remark lol. I already got an AQ, don't think I need 3.5 kwatts right now, saved me about 200 too. I was just responding to him since it was getting heated, thought I would cool it off. I thought it was xzenun?

It's all good, I was busy too, just happened to do a little research in the free time. Yeah the Seas CA22RNX looks pretty appealing. Not sure about the Morel CAW 938, think I have looked at that before. Do you know anything about the Dynavox LW8004PMR? Couldn't find too many 8s on zaphs site, other than the peerless hds.

Actually the point of the thread was for me to decide if I should get the 3KWD

Amp power wire.
I am the same way, I choose that way because of the price standpoint. I have some knukonceptz along with my welding cable, and I feel that the welding is just as flexible. Is that the same with you or do you have other reasons for using it? Just curious ::

Update: Bought a XS D3400!!! Subs expected to arrive on thursday too. I will start a build log and get some pics up. Found some woofers I was thinking may work with the Vifa tweet: Dayton ST210-8 Series II 8", saw that it had a pretty nice efficiency, says it has low distortion, and high power handling. Problem was that the FR seemed to be a bit peaky, but no big dips. Eminence ALPHA-8A, or BETA-8. Both had an extended FR, high sensitivity, paper cone!, but they lack on midbass (just below 100 Hz it seems, just cross my sub higher I guess) Dayton RS220 Good midbass, low distortion, but may not be able to play high enough. Peerless Nomex 830869 8" May also be a good choice Scanspeak 18W/8545K 7" Not sure, Flat FR, high sensitivity Any suggestions? Are these some good choices?

what do ya think of this price for install?
x2 I would check to see how much the install is with your own equipment, also if they warranty their work. Who knows, maybe it will work out being the same price getting better equipment plus the same great install. Keep a copy of that quote too, I had a shop threaten to keep my car if I didn't pay the extra money they were charging for things they never mentioned they would do.

Oh, and when choosing woofers, should I look for low HD or a flatter FR, basically which is more important non linear vs. linear distortion? I guess I am going to need something to match with the Vifa, which I think I will try and cross at 2.5 kHz at 12 dB/Oct or 2 kHz at 18 or 24 dBs/Oct. By the way, I am going to go with either the Vifa XT25BG60-04 or the Vifa XT25TG30-04, couldn't see the difference, guessing the TG30 isn't sheilded correct? Also going to try and decide on an amp for those, I will report back with that when I figure it out.

I'm bein told i can't beat Bola... in MECA
he ran in m5 earlier this year just to try and win a $500 cash bonus at a show.. so he ran in m5 so his fuses wouldnt pop. One of his buds told me he is still in M4... Now, if he decides to move out of my class... Oh well... i still want that goal of and over your feat at the headrest. I been talkin to my buddy... mdf... he sucks. His cousin, oak, is gonna be helpin me out on some walls but cousin oak alone cant support my goals... His uncle, concrete, will be commin over along with some friends he calls his 2x4s and we gonna have a party. Oh... and the 3500s are rated at 6500w @18v.. I'll be runnin more voltage than that. That will be one fun party! They are quiet guys, but always seem to make anyone close to them pretty loud, especially the DC brothers. Good luck with your gola to beat bola ^haha accident but I am keeping it

new Head unit help
I would get something with 3 sets of pre outs, most large sub amps allow you to link with one set of pre outs, you will learn eventually on here the importance of front and rears (which won't be serving that purpose, front and rear speakers that is, you will see that rear speakers aren't needed in a car). I would say alpine or pioneer, my favorites . I always used to buy something rather quickly, then learned about more I needed and about what I was going to do and always needed something else to get what I want. Spend a couple weeks asking more questions and reading through posts here, I am sure you will learn a good amount!!!

Just the XT25, was in the kick, I know this is an awful description, but it felt soft and nice on the ears, yet still got decently loud. Oh, and let's forget the passenger
