I was comparing it to other 21 and 22 inch HT subs, but I guess it would have a lower overall Q, more efficient, and smaller Vas so hopefully they wouldn't need 20 cubes each haha. Yeah I was worried about too much on 2 3KWDs, supposed to be 3200-3500 a piece, near doubling the 1750 rating, I am afraid of the thermal handling at low frequencies, if I had a high tuning I wouldn't worry, but mechanical failure... Maybe I'll just do two btl 18s like I intended, 4 xcon 15s would be too expensive

HOLY, rainbow isn't a cheap (nor is bad quality.) brand. But i would also consider BladeICE to buy a Fi sub, like the BL. Not a IB3 like a guy suggested. IB3 is for infinite baffle aplications only, no box at all. EDIT:NCSU ECE, 10's get low as easy as a 18 inch sub, no difference in sizes,except output. I'm well aware of that... But he wanted output and the last time I checked, it takes 4 times the amount of drivers (sd) or power to have the same SPL at half an octave, considering he wants output down low, a 10 won't cut it. I never said one "plays" lower. An 18 is cheaper than 2 15s and he has a budget, so if you are suggesting 4 10s, that does not fit his goal of less than 500 for drivers.

Would that reach my goal though? Two of those on one of those 3KWDs?

Yeah do a single 18, they get low so easy. I'm on the hunt for a pair right now, how much are Fi Qs or Bls shipped there?

Well, I want the best of both worlds I guess haha, but who doesn't. BTL is the only Fi driver I haven't owned/heard so I don't know how it compares to the Bl or Q. Haven't heard the sundowns and I love the SSAs. Could two XCON 18s, 4 ICON 15s, 2 BTl 18s, something like that fit the bill? I could take a trip to mooresville to listen to those sundowns I guess, need to go by charlotte anyway.

Yeah, I have gone back and forth between SSA, Fi BTLs, IA DPs, AAs, DCs, RDs, exodus, bazooka tubes... Wait a second.. But I would prefer to have the lowest price tag and still be at or above 150 at 30 Hz. Whether it be 21s 18s 15s, don't really care, what set up would you choose?

I have a 2004 tahoe and I am going to change my sub stage. My electrical consists of a 300 amp alt., 4 deka intimidators group 31 in the back, and a intimidator group 34 up front, big three, and two runs of 0 gauge. I want to spend around two grand and my goals are a nice, somewhat "musical" sounding daily driver with a lot of output. I am hoping to hit 150+ at 30 Hz eventually. But if tuning needs to be a bit higher that is fine with me, preferably around 32-33 Hz. I guess that would make me save my goal for another day, but ultimately something above 150 is what I want. The allowable dimensions for my box are roughly W49.5" by H27" by D35", although I am striving for less depth. So, somewhere around 22-24 internal cubes. I have searched for a long time, constantly researching, which has only made my decision harder. I might have my mind set on trying two of the crescendo audio 3KWDs, since they are the same board as the saz 3000 and the atomic 3000, and they are only 540 each. I looked into AQ, hifonics, refurb sundowns, audiopipe, rd, cactus, and many others I am forgetting as well. So basically, what do you guys think I can do to get this goal? Can any combo of amps and subs along with box tuning and size make this possible for under $2250?

Out of curiosity, what do you consider "no name"?

I don't see why ED should be kept out. Many people have bad experiences, yes, but many of us have never had a problem. There is no need to bias against a product completely because some people don't like their business practices. Its not the best for sure, but options are great. Not that this has much relevance (sorry denim, I know you just got on someone for this) but my 4 13av.2s hit 147.8 in the dash legal on music, although that was with over 4000 watts. They aren't very efficient, even for a low Fs, high Q, SQ type sub, BUT, they are cheap. They can be found for lower than 250 each, not bad. After that being said, I guess I still wouldn't recommend them lol. XCON, ICON, Fi Q or IB3, exodus maelstrom, soundsplinter, all great choices.

I have seen a couple old threads about these 22 inch subs but I have not read anything of them in the last few months. Did they ever come out? Also what were their specs, price, etc...?

I am going to buy one and see, I'll give a review and some more pics. Maybe I will get one and make a chain too!

I have seen people talk about their products time to time, mostly the super tweeters, but does anyone have experience with the amps? The website says two year transferable warranty and the amps look similar to sundown, atomic, and a few other brands I have seen. I might look into purchasing two of those 3KWDs considering they are 550 a piece.

Carpeting can be one of the easiest parts in my opinion, but then again, I had previous vinyl and wallpaper experience, kind of similar I guess. With practice that gets pretty easy. You will definately be suprised by the BL 15 if you are hoping for 135.

Not sure if you are still deciding, I am just throwing in my late 2 cents. If you have ever heard them side by side in relatively similar enclosures, the BL is much louder and in my opinion, does not lack the sound quality that your friend would seem to care for, granted I don't know him. I think someone already said that, just adding my opinion.

Would it be necessary to do a wall? I wouldn't mind trying a few of the xcon 18s though. What kind of box space do they like, if they are tuned around 26 or so.

Test tones, I have 4 ed 13av.2s right now tuned to 28 Hz and its not quite low enough, for a decent response in music its fine, but I would want to do this just as an experiment, then maybe use whatever I use as some HT subs. Would xcons work better than what I have now and would they double as HT, haven't seen them used for that.

This wouldn't be to go along with any sort of set up. I eventually want to try and get some ridiculous low end output. What would be another design or group of subs that I could use for this. BTLs, Qs, Cs-18s, lms-ultras, XXXs... Should I go sealed considering I really am looking for increased output from about 18 to 30 Hz with low distortion. This would just be a project for fun and sometime in the future.

After looking through diycable.com, I came across the Exodus Maelstrom line subwoofers. I am getting the Ex-Anarchys and when I saw the 21" monster I did some investigating. I have seen that it is apparently a beast of a home theater sub so I thought I would run an idea by you guys. How about two of these in a 20 ft.^3 box tuned to somewhere in the neighborhood of 24Hz? I was thinking maybe a couple of sundowns, 2500ds or 3500ds, or something like that to run them. I would be looking for absurd low end response, and I know it's not a SPL sub by any means, but what kind of output would that yield? This is just an idea and I am not even sure about going through with a new sub stage right now but I think this would be a cool goal if you think it would be worth it.
