So a single ported 12 is basically what were looking at? Proper air space to port a pair is unrealistic with back seats there? He's capable of building a lot more than myself. I'll bounce some of this off him. Pictures would be good

Just for reference he wants to port it for sure. He has 2 lower end JL 12's and a cheap amp but he's willing to spend. No comps just daily driving. Nothing crazy.

This is for a buddy at work. He has a 02 extended cab and doesn't want to remove his back seats so it needs to go under them. Has a prefab now he hates. Don't blame him. I'm having trouble finding any build logs on this phone like his. What have others done? No doubt he needs to build one just want to do some homework before sending him off. Thanks

My friend asked me to find him a cheaper 4ch amp. Budget is as close to $100 as possible, little over is ok. It needs a full range output on it because his deck is single RCA. I see a mob quart in the classifieds here but not sure how to follow up on that. No contact info. Is there anything new that can be had for this price? Just running a set of aura components and a set of Polk coaxials.

Ok. Thanks.... Am I crazy for running that big ass amp to a set of fosgate components for right now? I have a little fosgate t400.4 also but I really want to get this amp in the car.

I bought a crescendo bc2000 originally for my pair of sa12s. I also bought one of those big ass 2 ch crescendo c1600.2's.. I want to use the big one and do far I got a pair of components lmao. Seems a little extreme for them.. What if I run the c1600 to the subs? Since its class AB will it have any audible difference vs the class D bc2000? Might be a stupid question but I've only ran class D Amps on subs.

My 2011 Malibu has no stock voltmeter what so ever. My friends 08 Grand Prix doesn't either.. Reason enough for me. I'll be running mine to my amp. That's where I would like to monitor.

I've used a couple. For the price I'm not sure it can be beat. Power seems to be there it's just the input terminals I don't like. 4ga. But the angle downwards. It's do-able but kind of a pain. I've been through 3 of the bass knobs from not properly mounting it. There kinda fragile on the inside wires of the bass knob. Overall I still recommend the ap to any friends on a budget

Crazy... I looked at it after work and it was cutting out bad. Few hrs later I see him again and it's not going into protect... Was that a sign the amp may be going out?

I hooked up a system for my buddy a year or so ago.. Just 1 Treo 12 and an audio pipe ap1500. Stock electrical. All has been good till yesterday.. His stock battery took a shut so he replaced it. Called me up to help him adjust the deck back where it was. I went through it and when I began turning it up the ampoules cuts out. Goes into protect for about 4 seconds and keeps on playing for another 5 seconds or so and does it again UNTILL I turn it down. I lowered the gain a little bit out of curiosity but same thing.. What can be causing this? Where do I start? This was a used amp when he bought it on CL so maybe the Amps taking a shit? Any help is appreciated.

Yea. He has more than 14" thats at the trunk latch whic on his particular car it's the smallest spot. I was thinking a wedge style. But.. He has changed his mind once again.. Guess he got a good deal on 4 12" kicker cvx's. Local shop is gonna build him a box and do it for him. He told me if he isn't happy with it he will go with the bl's.. Oh well I think it's gonna sound a lot better if the box is done right this time.. Sorry for wasting anyone's time. Just thought he wasn't in such a hurry lol. Thanks to all who responded

Website says 3 - 5 cu ft. You guys think 2 15" bl's ported will work in there?

He owns 2 of the newer fosgate t1500bd's for power and he has a few batteries and a power bastards alt ( if that's any good?)

I have a friend at work who has an older caprice..he had 8 10's crammed in the trunk when I met him.. I told him what I thought.. Not enough room for that many speakers. So he re builds with 6 10's. All kicker subs. He always comes to work bumpin and it sounds like shit IMO.. Long story short he heard my 18" btl in my Tahoe off a saz1500 and he realized he's doing something wrong and now wants advice. I would like to see if he could fit 2 BL 15's in there and he's willing to buy em but I had him give me measurements before anything.. This is what he gave me. W 46 L 32 H 14 He says the 14" is where the trunk latches and if he builds it taller closer to the seats that will work. What's he have here guys? I'm horrible with box calculations. Is 2 15'' bl's a feasible choice?

I changed the holder to a ring terminal type. Replaced everything. So far so good

The ones that are melting is the set screw style. I just so happened to buy like 8 fuse holders that take ring terminals for another build... I'll try one of those. Thanks fellas!

Well... Guess I'll just replace that section with new wire/holder and fuse checking all my connections. Could this be a problem with just the knu wire cause of its soft flexible jacket or could this happen with any wire?

What if I run no fuse?
