Burning up my wire..help!
I appreciate you guys helping. It's real odd to me. Last time it happend I wasn't paying too much attention. This time I did notice everything normal when I started it up. I took it to a drive through car wash so I was looking at the gauges. I was pushing the system hard as hell for almost 10 mins straight before I noticed. System is a sundown saz1500/btl 18 ran at 1 ohm. 2 kinetik hc2000's. Just 1 run back of 1/0 ( same wire under hood) and a mb quart 4125 discus for the highs. I'll check back when I get up in the morning. Thanks again I really appreciate it!

Burning up my wire..help!
As in size of fuse? No. Different fuse than the first time? Yes It's hard for me to believe such a short run on a cheap ass ho alt can be the wires fault.. Alt is rated at 220a at like 1600 rpm. At idle I watch the needle drop dramatically. Hate this alternator. Shouldn't a 2' run of 1/0 knu Cca be good for a lot more than I have? I mean what else do I try? Run 2 runs of 1/0 just for the alt-bat connection? Lol seems a bit much.

Burning up my wire..help!
It's basically a 2' cable. I checked the connections and there nice and tight. After it messed up the 1st time I replaced the entire piece and fuse holder. Each time it happens it completely melts that end of the fuse holder

Burning up my wire..help!
Yea it's the cheaper of knu's cable. Rated for 250amps is what it says. Too much current? What's the fix for this?

Burning up my wire..help!
Ok this is the 2nd time in about 6 months this has happens. First time I just wrote it off and replaced what was needed.. Now I'm wondering why.. I noticed my voltage acting funny as if my alt wasn't charging. Pop the hood and I've melted the wire that I have put between alt and battery. Like I said...2nd time same spot. I have a pos db alternator 220a ho alt. I used knu cca 1/0 for a pretty short run between alt and bat positive. Fused with a 250a fuse. Battery is a kinetik hc2000. 1st time 2nd time Both times the fuse did not blow. The fuse holder isn't next to anything hot enough to do that kind of damage. Now I only drive this vehicle maybe three times a month so maybe that's why it hasn't happend so close together? Appreciate any ideas you guys may have

2009 Malibu Build (2 B2 Audio CC 12")
The crescendos can be painted, I'll be getting mine done cause I hate that coper color. Just an idea I think they are bad ass amps

Which solder to get?
I'm leaving today to help a friend with his install. We're going to be soldering a bunch of 1/0 knu cca to the ring terminals. I noticed im out of the solder I used to have and I completely forgot what I had. Real simple. What kind of solder will be best for what I'm doing?

Phase dial?
Thanks. Thats what I needed to know

Phase dial?
Friend asked me about the phase dial on his sundown 1500. I couldn't give him an answer. What exactly is it and what does it do?

rear fill 6 x 9's?
Also for what it's worth I'm going to be buying one of those big ass crescendo 1600.2's. Not sure if I want to try and use it in this build or not but its a possibility.. Too much power for a set of comps? Lol

rear fill 6 x 9's?
Nothing in this vehicles sound system will be stock. I have about 80% of the equipment I'm going to use sitting here now. Like I said I'm going to put speakers in there regardless. I appreciate the comments.. Now about a better front stage.. What's better? I'm not fiberglassing my doors and I'm using stock locations. An active setup I'm sure would be better but that is something I've never done and I'm not sure this vehicle is the one to learn on. What's better? I'm not so worried about saving money for other things. I've been buying new stuff for this build since last year. No rush here. Changed my mind twice on amps.. Once after I already bought one lol.

rear fill 6 x 9's?
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_19510_Rockford-Fosgate-Power-T1693.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_19509_Rockford-Fosgate-Power-T1692.html I also ran across some 6 x 9 component sets.. what's the deal with those?

rear fill 6 x 9's?
I know alot of you preach how worthless rear speakers are, I can understand if were talking about rear doors or something...my rear speakers are 6 x 9's mounted in the rear deck lid. Just playing around with my stock system its clear as day those speakers are back there and I'm going to replace them with after market speakers. The front stage will be a set of Rockford fosgate 6.5 components (T1652-S) using the passive crossovers it comes with. So... to keep with the fosgate theme for my speakers I see there is 2 different sets of power series 6x9's fosgate makes. 2 way and 3 way.. I understand what that means as far as how they operate but I'm not sure which one will be better coming from behind me in the vehicle? Both the same price. Maybe I'm over thinking it and it won't even matter, I don't know. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks

only 1 output on head unit
That's what I needed to know. Thanks.

What crazy claims have you heard people make?
I hear that daily. My partner at work is a huge JL nuthugger. "you only need 1 W7... 2 is way too much". Lol.

only 1 output on head unit
Ok did some more research.. I sold him my old audiopipe 1500d. Wasn't sure about the output on it.. Here is an image Bridge in and out? I believe that's for linking purposes. Anyone got any idea and if that is not a usable output what is my next best option?
-
only 1 output on head unit
One more thing. The output is a front output. Any negative effects of using that for a sub channel and outputing from there to the highs amp? Reason I ask is cause the sub amp is the one with the output on it. I would think the crossover wouldntake care of that wouldn't it?

only 1 output on head unit
Buy a 3 sixty lmao. He is honestly the cheapest person I've ever met. Thanks bromo I knew those damn outputs were good for something lol..so simple I should have known. Thanks

only 1 output on head unit
I'm helping a friend put together his system. This has to be such a rookie question but its something I've never had to deal with, all my systems I buy decks with enough RCA outputs. He refuses to spend money on a deck. He has a few laying around but only have 1 set of outputs on each deck. He plans to use 2 amps in his system (highs amp and sub amp) what's the best method to do this as far as running the rca's.

Annodizing my amp..
Any pics jay cee ? Thanks for the advice everyone else.

Annodizing my amp..
I didn't pull the amp out of the box since posting this but it should be a beauty plate on the top.. Don't think the pcb will even be touched. Pretty sure under the plate is still the amp case.

Annodizing my amp..
Google is my friend lol. Found a few plating and chrome shops here local. I'll call around tomorrow. Thanks for the website. If all fails I'll be using them. I'll be sure to get some before and after shots whenever I do this

Annodizing my amp..
No not a show car.. In fact I'll rarely even see it. It's just something I would like to get done... Any reputable places I could send this off too? Not sure where to start to find a place like this locally.

Annodizing my amp..
I currently have one of those crescendo bass clef amps. Can't stand the color of the top plate. Does anyone know how I would go about changing the color? Would it have to be sent off to be anodized? I know nothing really about how that even works or who to send it off too. The writing on the top plate is etched in so as long as it isn't a thick paint or something I would imagine all that will still be there?? Just an off topic post.. What do you guys think?
