i went down to a lowes and he told me basically his cuts werent worth a shit lol.. needless to say i went home to do my best... maybe ill go back down there some other day when another person is workin.. its only 2 mins from my house.

audiopipe is a decent little amp, got one for a friend of mine and he loves it, uses it on his Fi Q and it sounds good. Actually tryin to get my hands on another one to put into my truck for a budget build. Alot of people here recommend this amp, after ive used it.. i do too. for your price range you cant beat it... new you should be able to get one for less than your budget.

q sounds better, i know from experience... i prefer 1 Q 12" over 2 kicker cvr 12's..tested this one a few different times.. q sounds better ... ..tested witha AP15001 amp in a 08 grand prix. CVR's in optimal box, Q in optimal cuft box also.. Q wins

just creating a thread like that shows you the kind of people.. i know nothing of that forum.. this is my one and only.. think i signed up at smd but once i found this one i just stuck around. dont let it get to ya.. its the internet. I personally prefer a forum like this.. i hate all the drama and bs posts. the rules here keep this place what it is.

sure the sundown would sound fine, i got that same amp goin to a btl 18" and i think it sounds great.. sure the BL's would sound good, just make sure to get a custom box built to spec, and keep an eye on the voltage once its all hooked up.

good clarification Wish AA was sold somewhere here in my town.. these shops suck big time, and the guys who work at them are cut throat.. went in a few months ago guy was tryin to sell me a HCCA 15 for $500 ... i go back last week and he tells me he is ready to cut me a deal.. $600 .. i laughed at that maybe its better they dont sell em here..rant..

Ive got a few questions for those of you that have this amp or have owned it at one time.. i remember reading somewhere the 3000 was only stable down to 2 ohms, but im seeing it on ebay advertised as 1 ohm stable.. true or false? also the power and ground inputs on the amp... 0 gauge or 4 ga like the 1500? thinkin about picking this amp up .. maybe.. thanks.

wish i knew about aero ports a little bit, would probably come in handy in my case, i like how that first pic is, my passenger can kiss the dash, not my problem, i just want to sit comfortably, and looking at that pic your seat could be kickin back no problem with just those ports back there... all good idea's, appreciate it man.

Thanks for the post, My problem is with the seat all the way back sub up might not work too well at the height it will need to be, with the seat reclining and all. But ill for sure take into consideration, i wont be doing any type of competing with this truck, its my commuter truck everyday for work, just want something clean and good sounding in there and be able to sit comfortably the 2 hours a day i drive it. Also thanks for the info on the false floor, thats a must however i decide to make the box. When you say port facing the driver side.. do you mean port facing forward on the drivers side (aimed right at the back of the seat?) or port facing straight across aimed at the back drivers side window? Do you have any pics of any of your boxes laying around? would love to see some. Im a visual type of dude.. seeing something already built helps me.

i love that design! clean plus the amps arent mounted just to the top of the box (like mine). You said you got 1.5 from each side.. maybe i should re consider the sub. i was thinkin maybe 1 12" so i could use the max space and get the most out of it.. maybe i should find a sub i could be happy with in a 10" model that requires a bit smaller box and just run 2.. i really love this design man, if you got any more pictures please post em or anything else. Thank you ...wonder if the sa-8's will be available again anytime soon..

im sure the space is there, just want to see what other's have done with this vehicle.

the current box is 1.75 cu Ft per side, separated in the middle. So there should be enough room back there to make this work.

Im having a hell of a time fitting a box into my s10, along time ago i bought a pre fabbed sealed enclosure for 2 12's, downfire design.. fits nicely behind the seats.. well the box is crap and im ready to go ported, i have 2 Re SR12's i built a box for and it was garbage as well.. has anyone built a box for these trucks? mine is a 1998. Im thinking about just going with 1 12" to get an optimal box size. More than likely a Fi BL or Q 12". havent decided yet.. so again if anyone has built for this vehicle or can show me some pictures of what other people do i would appreciate it. Also Im a bigger guy so the seat needs to be as far back as possible (no tilt wheel).

turn the volume down? you mean the gain? these things sound like shit right now.. volume up 3/4 and there not even that noticeable. to be honest i had some cheap ass eclipse co-axial in there before these and im having trouble telling the difference.. I even added about 10 tiles from sound deadener showdown to the each door. going from a cheap 6.5 to a zapco component set i should be able to tell a difference. Its all in my settings i think.. or the amp is crap.. im gonna play with some settings i could have things wrong, i dont doubt that one bit which is why i came here with the problem. ill try to play with some settings and if all else fail's ill get a picture of my settings as they will be and hope we can go from there. appreciate everyone's response.

Any sundown amp, the SAZ 1500D slams the hell out of my 18" BTL.. also those btl's are a different type of bass i think.. real loud and low.. pushes a bunch of air.. rattles the hell out of your vehicle.. I personally love it, but its a different type of bass than ive ever heard before.. not very musical.

hmm.. ill try that tomorrow when i get home from work. im really considering swapping this amp with my other fosgate 600.4 .. the fosgate sounds awesome in my s10, but this mb quart sounds like shit in the tahoe..

amp tuning is a very good possibility, think that amp has more than enough power for these components, the deck is a pioneer premier, its very very nice.. tons and tons of settings. i dont have the model number right this minute.

ive always been under the impression those line out converters always turned out shitty sounding.. But that could be very wrong these days i wouldnt be surprised. I think we need to know which amp your running before we can help you to the fullest. maybe you have a 200 watt flea market amp your tryin to run that sub off? or maybe you have a huge sundown amp? That information is needed here.
