  1. Well I was doing some reading on hifonics, and it appears as though they highly overrate their amps RMS power. That is a problem. I really need to get that 800w RMS. Any more recommendations are much appreciated.
  2. Just the copper coil. And ok thanks for the warning on boss audio. I will look into hifonics maybe for the money. Still got weeks to search.
  3. Just as the title says, I'm looking at the best amp for my money to power my single SSD 18. Currently I will be using my 700W receiver as my amp untill I get a new amp for christmas. Sundown seems to be super duper popular, and apparently the best amps around. But the problem is that for the money, I won't be able to get 800W RMS if I go with sundown. I know its probably not recommended at all, but I found a Boss Audio amp rated at 750W RMS at 4 OHMS for $155. It didn't have any bad reviews from what I read. But I know boss audio doesn't really make quality products (at least from what I have read). Hopefully there is something better for the money. I really want to ths sub to get 800W+. I want to hear its full potential.
  4. I'm surprised you guys don't offer overnight shipping and other methods.
  5. It was $30 to ship my 18" SSD.
  6. Refresh it tonight after midnight pacific time and you will see movement. Your order left today. Yea it updated. But it is going to take 7 days to ship . Darn holiday.
  7. Yea that's true. That actually helped when I was waiting for my tv.
  8. Yea that is just what I was wondering. I have tracked my share of shipments, so I'm just making sure there isn't something wrong.
  9. Ah yea but that is the BTL corect ?
  10. Sorry to bother again, but I'm confused. My UPS status has said "received billing information" for 2 days straight now. Is that normal ? I got a tracking number on Wednesday. I was told building started on Monday.
  11. Ok thanks. Appreciate the post
  12. There is no reason to be a dick. I never said I wasn't willing to wait. I just asked how long it usually takes. That is only for the BTLs. I ordered an SSD.
  13. lol, I know that. I am impatient its true. but I still wonder though.
  14. Just curious. As of right now for me, I ordered mine on sunday. Still haven't received any email yet other than order confirmation :/ I do realize today is the first business day though. I wonder what the quickest someone has received theirs is.
  15. Well I will say its not for home theater. It is for music. If thats what you are getting at.
  16. Lol. Well that is good to know.
  17. Just ordered my SSD 18 today. Waiting for my tracking number to come once its built, and then the countdown until it arrives. The sub will be going in my room, and I am trying to build up a good ported box plan now. Does anyone here have a Fi sub in their room ? I'm curious. Right now I have 2 10" Rockford Fosgate Punches from the 90s in a ported box. They are in the corner of my room, and can be heard from anywhere in the house. They aren't that loud though, being so old. But they do pretty good. They shake the siding of my house pretty good. How much louder do you think the SSD will be (assuming its in a well built box @33hz) ?

Yes I do. There isn't really anything else I'm fitting in the car. Plus, my box probably won't be 10cuft. Probably 7 or so.

Well I haven't bought my car yet. But I hope to very soon. Well, Maybe You Should Think About This AFTER You Buy Your Vehicle? Not Trying To Be A Dick But....It's Common pucking Sense. Lmao. Yea I understand. I am just a little ahead of myself. But I actually figured out what car I'm getting. 2002 Mazda Protege5 I'm sure if I put the back seats down I can fit an 18" in there no problem.

Good to see that the SSDs are satisfying people. I am looking to get one. How would you rate its loudness ? Compared to other subs you have heard.
  22. hatrix replied to hatrix's topic in General Fi
Well the SSD 18 is pretty much my budget limit. I might be able to put a little more money into it, but I don't think i can really afford anything that is $300. Maybe like $275 max. I don't really have to much to spend on the sub. I'm not positive I will have the room for it yet either. But I will find out as soon as I can. Power wise I will probably be pushing like a little of above 800 RMS to it. I'm not positive on my amp yet. Maybe you guys have some recommendations ? Sorry, I just don't want to underpower,or overpower. And the loudest I have heard really might not be to much. My friend has two 12" MTX and 2 10" ALs (they suck I know) in a sealed box and they sound louder than anything I have heard, but I don't know how much dB they are pushing. I just want the loudest for the money really, and of course some SQ.

I was originally looking at getting a SSD 18, but it seems like a lot of people have SSD 12s instead of the 18s. Is the 12 better or something ? I would assume that the 18 would get louder, and that is what im going for. Im not really entirely sound quality. I was also wondering if anyone had any good box specifications for a SSD 18.
