I know nothing about downloading music, so I'll have to check it out the next time I buy some CD's. If you could send me the .wav file I'll burn it and let you know how it sounds this next weekend. ..I still can't get over how hard that one 12 hits with 600 watts. It's almost enough bass for me. I'm a SQeer, but I still like to slam with the best of them from time to time. And yessss.....2 12's with 5k watts in the teggy is going to be glorious. BTW: Nick, expect a call about power soon. The b16a is in the car (not finished, but the motor/trans are all in and we'll finish it up tomorrow) and I'm getting calls about it like crazy. As soon as it's sold I'm ordering the amps.

The proto in my sisters car hits beyond hard. The Integra is going to be nuts, but dang....for a simple system, hers hits HARD.

Before anyone asks, not the Blazer, but a Blazer. 12" sealed in about 1.3 cubes with a Hifonics Z600 on it. If and/or when Jake ever shows up on here he can vouche for what I'm about to post on. Our bass demo CD that we have made has everything from Tocatta in B (off the Bass Mechanic CD) to Tricycle (for dynamics) to Bela Fleck, to Spies, to...well you get the picture. Tocatta (sp?) in B is just nuts. Unlike the previous generations of Mag's, there is no shelving off in the extreme low-end (the older Mag's would drop about 3 dB but keep that same level through the lower freq's). As the bass drops, the Mag just keeps the SPL the same. This single 12 off of 600 watts makes the steering columb shake around 25 Hz and lower. The Spies (self-titled I believe - the black covered CD) is percussive and transient beyond what a 12 should be with this low of wattage. I was riding around at around 10 at night with the system cranked...which is very unlike me. The bass felt and sounded sooo good that I just didn't care. I even got back in the car a little later than that and cranked it for all it was worth to show Jake how it performed. Basically, I love these new drivers. They have the same SQ as the older versions but with more low-end capability and also the ability to get louder than the previous versions. Basically the best of both worlds IMO. Just ask anyone who has heard the previous gen's vs. the new proto.

The driver said he thought it was a bowling ball when he picked it up. Just loosely rolling around inside that box with no packaging. I love it.

Them shifting the magnets over 1/8'th of an inch is what amazes me.

Well I get back to the house and see a package at the door and I think "sweet! The second Mag came in today!" Well I get up to the door and notice that it is not our specific box (we have all drivers packaged and shipped a certain way in certain boxes). The box is oblonged shaped with scratches, dent, and scuffs all over it. I take it in the house and this is what I see (pics below). Fedex apparently played football in a concrete parking lot with the drivers motor and then threw it in a random box with no packaging. The magnet slugs are off-center big time and there are magnet shards all over it. To boot, the surround has a puncture in it. Looks like the Blazer will still be Mag-less for a while. Damn I'm pissed b/c I'm sure I mis-spelled a lot in this post.

Lets try this again (this makes the 3rd time trying to reply to this thread). I find myself saying this a lot, but I told you so. Now take that driver over and make the W7 nervous. We tried keeping the same SQ if not improving it a little bit while giving the driver more low end and a little bit better real-world efficiency (not focusing soley on the 1W/1M figure) and I think we've done that with the new Mag's.

If I had one I'd let you play around with it.

I see you got your internet back. The driver is AWESOME!! I love it...and yet I can't keep it! Damnit. To me, it looks twice as good as any of the proto's looked. ...that might just be me though. Pics coming...

Yep, the first ever production driver came in today. A second driver should come shortly...which the pair of them are being rush-shipped to a competitor that is going to be putting up some serious numbers with them. The rest of the drivers are going to be glorious, as the one driver I have here is absolutely beautiful. If you guys want pics of it, just let me know.

No one knows the country code for CN, but it sure as hell isn't the number 1. They're too shifty and/or quiet to be called country #1.
