  1. Typo. I just changed it to M4. At least I think that's what it was (Loyd's car). Well the site will be updated soon...my ftp program is having serious problems.
  2. Adire Audio Koda 6's. The 8's would have been too much trouble for my narrow time-table...but maybe SI 8's later on when I have more time.
  3. Cost won't go up from what we've already posted due to the top plates. I'll try to listen to it as soon as it stops raining here long enough for me to work on my car.
  4. Yes, we make our own crossovers. Hand-assemble, hand-pick, etc, our x-overs. 'see the nice flat 14 awg traces? Yeeeaaahhhh. Now I'm on my 5'th application of lightweight body filler. Hopefully this will be the last. I'm going to hop off of here and head straight to sanding with 100, 230, 330, and then 400 or 600. Yay.
  5. first application of primer
  6. Yep. This was after the 2'nd layer of bondo. After layer 4 was applied and sanded today, I still need to add another layer. Little pin holes due to air bubbles are really starting to piss me off.
  7. Pics to explain what I've been busy doing:
  8. 1.5 to 1.7 cubes would be great for an SI 12 even with 1200 watts. Just stuff some fiberglas insulation in your fiberglas enclosure and you'll be good-to-go!
  9. Speaking of which, I need my enclosure for the 12 back. I'm going to put a plate on it to accept the 8" and run it in my car...with 1k on it. (obviously not the full 1k )
  10. And another picture... Oh yeah, measured near-field frequency response un-baffled was 40-1600 Hz +/- 3 dB. Not too shabby.
  11. This might now be exactly how the final version will look, but here's a peek at what I have sitting at my house.
  12. I would go with a 15 sealed in an enclosure larger than 2.3 cubes. Despite the graphs (very nice though), the 15 will be louder across the board. Larger cone area = more SPL given that everything else stays the same. At the 1 watt level the 15's are a solid 3 dB more efficient. If I could fit a 15 in my car I would, but since I'm putting all of my speakers in the cab of a Del Sol that isn't an option. Wait, I just saw the 12 is ported and the 15 is sealed. In that case, they should be pretty darned even. I'd still go with a 15 though.
  13. The hampster conversation was awesome. Launching a shaved hampster that has a cape and streamers attached to it off a Honda passenger-side airbag all stemed from the sight of my airbag sitting in the garage. Totally awesome. And oh yeah, I got the prototype 8" in today. Thanks for the post though.
  14. Unless you've paid, you're not on the preorder list. If you could, email me letting me know exactly how/why I told you that you were on the list without paying.
  15. Try shutting them up when you have a single 12 and everyone swears you have 2 12's. That, and being able to beat their arse in SQ is always a plus.
  16. Our estimated due date is still true to our estimate. More 12's and 15's should be coming in around that date.
  17. If you get the 1500, I wouldn't run it wide-open too much on a single ported 12. 1000-1200 is what we feel comfortable with. But yeah, it should be a lot louder with that amp.
  18. Wattage-wise, we don't cover blown/burnt coils at all. Our warranty is a 1 (one) year warranty against manufacturer defects. The speakers will handle 900'ish (in upwards to 1500 even) watts from a car amplifier without a problem. Just do a search on this, and other forums, and you'll find that the whole power issue has been talked about a lot. And blkjck, is there any way to tune your enclosure lower? Tuning a box that size to 28 Hz or so really makes a big difference.
  19. Haha. I haven't heard of anyone putting a Magnum in a bandpass box except for Ron Thompson. He put a 12 in a "Deathbox" (tuneable bandpass) and really liked it. But I don't think anyone has put a 15 in a bandpass.
  20. Yeah, I was talking about the hole. B)
  21. But anyway, even thought there's a little space between the chambers you will be fine.
  22. Yep, that box will be perfect. It's almost dead-on with our recommended enclosures.
  23. No, the speakers are still arriving shortly.
  24. We're waiting until we hear back from Mitek before doing anything.
