Me pushing the hell out of the magnum (video)
The video froze on me halfway through but it came back near the end for the big drop. Looks very very cool!

d2 in truck...
Besides the obvious (mounting depth of 6.75"), the more you angle the sub the more room you're going to need. And it's always a good idea to leave at least 2" behind the woofer so the pole vent can breathe.

No more "Magnum"s
Haha, we actually thought about doing that. Prince went through the same thing that we're going through right now. For now we're just going to refer to them as the SI 12's and SI 15's.
-
15" not dipping low enough
Please keep in mind that 2 cubes is the smallest recommended enclosure for the 15's. I like them in enclosures larger than or equal to 2.4 cubes sealed.
-
Is the D2 right for me?
The SI 12's definately shine ported or IB, but they are beautiful when sealed to the hardcore SQ junkies like myself. 800 watts will do it just fine. BTW: We've only got 3 12's left until the next batch comes in.

No more "Magnum"s
Wow...those are also my initials. And Magnum was chosen because it is a really good karting chassis. (keeping with the whole motorsports/performance'ish naming)

No more "Magnum"s
Before anyone freaks out we are still going to make subwoofers but we cannot use the name "Magnum" anymore. A Corporation called Mitek owns the rights to the word "Magnum" in car audio, so we cannot use it. This last batch of 12's and 15's that was just made will be the last speakers with "Magnum" on them. 'just thought I'd let you know. :thud:

Thought My Mag couldnt surprise me anymore..
Yeah, deadening a car is nuts. Esp. with the heat guns and all. Speaking of which, I've got a massive burn (2'nd degree) on my wrist from deadening my Del Sol. Now at least I won't have to die without any scars.
-
does a mag run in....?
We have been beating people in the lanes. Just ask Hoss. But we are a very small company and don't have lots and lots of American dollars to throw around at advertising, which is why you haven't seen us in magazines. As you can see from your replies and other threads on this, and other forums, our subwoofers will keep up with the best of them.

10" Magnum ?? (j/k)
It seems that someone beat me to it. Buy it and let me know how it performs. It should be...interesting. ...but it's interesting to see none-the-less. Someone else using the Magnum name. Hrm. Magnum 10's will definately come after our 8's come out, which will not be "Magnum's". They'll be very very neat though.

Thought My Mag couldnt surprise me anymore..
Awesome! The power increase really makes a huge difference. On paper and by the numbers, it shouldn't, but it sure does to me in the real world. And Josh and I know all about rattles in a Camaro. We deadened the ENTIRE THING one day. Insane to say the least. But cool cool. I had to leave town for a week up to Philadephia, then New Jersey, and then back to PA again, so this is a nice read after being gone for so long.
-
enough power?
Yep, that'll do just fine. They only need about 300 watts, but I like them with 600 or more.

new box for my mag
Yeah, the 3.5 was the smallest I would go if you are porting it. If you're still going to run sealed, adding the extra .5 cubes or so will get you more bottom end and an overall cleaner response. Or you could line the walls of your existing enclosure with fiberglas insulation and put about 1.5 lbs of polyfil in it to essentially give you the 2.4'ish that you're shooting for.
-
Played with my MAG today!!
Josh, I tried calling you twice this weekend and I even called your wife's phone! I tried getting you up here to at least see the car. I still need kicks and a massive fiberglas / carbon fiber enclosure in the car. A weekend trip up to your place is in order.

2 re se 12s vs single 12" magnumd2
Just buy the SE's. They're better.

think this will sound good?
You don't even want to know how much money I've spent on my car(s). Let alone how much I've lost on other mucle cars that I've owned...mainly the big block mucle car I just sold.

Played with my MAG today!!
Sweetness!! I'm glad you like it. I know I would. My install will involve numerous sealed drivers, but if I could I would run a 15 IB in a heart beat. PS: My install started today (minus a gimp-ass hoss). The entire interitor was gutted and we deadened the cab. The "trunk" was deadened yesterday with the help of Jacob. And I own an Import Tuner...not a ricer. There's a big difference. Heck...my last car was a 1969 SS 396 El Camino. AKA: A Chevelle without the rear end. I had fun with that car, but 10 mpg wasn't cool at all.

finally got magnums in today
Awesome. I'm glad you got your amp fixed and have proceeded in making your car weep for mercy. I spent today deadening the trunk of my car and getting the cab prepped for deadening tomorrow. After that comes at least the front stage install. THEN I'll wait a bit before I can have Magnum bass.

2 re se 12s vs single 12" magnumd2
More power on a Magnum = good things.
-
WTF??? Entasi
It is not the same. I am closing this thread. Sorry.
-
2.0 or 2.4cf?
The minimum recommended enclosure size is 2.0 cubic feet. We would like to see them in bigger boxes though. 2.4'ish would be great with light polyfil stuffing.
-
think this will sound good?
If you want more SPL than SQ, go with two 15's tuned to 30 Hz. Two 12's will be loud, but two 15's will be louder and go deeper. If you end up going with the 12's tune them to 28 Hz if you want it deep, or tune them higher like Clarke suggested if you want them louder.

I need some help
We don't make amplifiers so you'll have to find one on your own. Look around (do a search) on the forum for amplifiers and you'll find quite a few threads that already address your question about what amplifier(s) to use.

I need some help
All of those specs but "peak" is on our web page. Rated RMS power is 900 on the 12's and 950 on the 15's. Sensitivity is 87 on the 12's and 91 on the 15's. We don't publish peak power ratings because they are pretty much useless. If we did...maybe around 2800/3000 for burps.

Magnum power!!!!!!
We're putting 307's in kicks (4 speakers), Adire Koda midbass's in the doors using the factory locations to keep the stock look (2 speakers), one Magnum 12 inverted poking out a little between the seats along with two of our 8's on the sides behind the seats. The 8's and 12" will be fiberglased of course and I'll have a switch to where I can choose between the 8's or the 12" for demo purposes. It should be pretty neat when we get done with it.
