  1. Where's MSchmidt when you need him? He and JMigs are some of the only people who have bought 307's and are actually speaking about them on the forums.
  2. Nope, that's right. Magnum's don't model well in WinISD. Keep in mind that graph is the equivalent to being in an anechoic chamber - not a home or car.
  3. That's the original Magnum capone, not the new ones. I held a couple subs for Max at the end of the run in/around December. They were brand new, never used, etc. Yeah I held a few for GB, but I think it was worth it. PS: We got the new 12" Magnum's today. They will start shipping tomorrow.
  4. I am going to edit our subwoofer web pages to include a link to an explanation of our power handling ratings. If we were to follow traditional "car audio" power handling ratings our subs would be rated around 900 for the 12 and 1000 for the 15. But we choose to stay with the home hi-fi ALMA-style ratings.
  5. It's up to you how much power you put on it. We do not cover burnt coils. We do, however, have a lot of people who are throwing 1200 watts to 12's without any problem. 1500 on a 15 should be just fine, even though you really don't need that much. Just be respectful.
  6. This is Steve that lives in my home town. I don't know about the whole SOUNDDOMAIN thing. I still can't believe that he installed two 15" Mag's in an Acura Integra HB. That's just nuts.
  7. Yep, it's coated aluminum - just like it states on our web page. We reduced the moving mass quite a bit going to aluminum windings. And you can ask just about anyone that knows me, I love light Mms's.
  8. Copper?! That's coated aluminum baby.
  9. Cool stuff! You might want to try and take the picture of the coil through the spider vents again. Seeing the coil that way is pretty neat. I'm glad it got there fine.
  10. The 15's are available...but not for long. Keep in mind that if you send a check it will take two weeks to clear (10 business days). That, and I just responded to your email.
  11. If you want reviews on the Magnum 12's, go to www.caraudio.com and do a search for the word "Magnum". You will find LOTS of posts and reviews about them.
  12. Nah, I forgot to ship it out. I'll get it shipped out tomorrow for sure. I even overlooked his SI shirt that should have been included. I'll get the shirt and the driver off to you tomorrow FOR SURE! Sorry about that man.
  13. Because we don't have the 12's yet. :boxin:
  14. It's actually hard to not have tight, punchy, bass out of Magnum 12's. I mean, you have to have leaks in your box, or end up with 0.1 cube of internal volume (basically fiberglass the basket), etc in order to have boomy bass out of a Magnum. 1 to 1.5 cubes is just fine for a 12" Mag. Build whatever you can fit/allow.
  15. More-than-likely Monday. Friday is wishful thinking. The speakers have to travel from the oposite side of the United States in order to get here. If they come Monday I will be able to start shipping on Tuesday.
  16. Thanks for the kind words guys. Josh, you better give me a call if you end up around 30 mintues away from me this weekend. :boxin: But yeah, I busted arse getting all of them up to full excursion at least once while moderately breaking them in. The full excursion part was fun. It's still odd seeing such a large cone being broke in. I'm still used to the 12's being the only size. The 15's smell different (when you first open up the package) from the previous run of 12's, but I think that's due to the storage/make of our new baskets this time. I know, I know, 'talking about the smell...but man it's just sooo cool opening up a fresh speaker, breaking it in without touching anything but the basket and terminals (to keep the backplate nice and shiny), and boxing it back up for someone else to enjoy. And on that note - wipe your backplates off if you touch them. The backplates are steel and they might tarnish if you don't wipe them off. 'just thought I'd let you know.
  17. No, just keep what you have and either use polyfil or don't use it. You can always take it out if you want (or vice-a-versa).
  18. Yep. Every 15" went out the door today at 4:30 PM. I'm going to do my best to get back to everyone through email tonight with the tracking numbers, but I can't make any promisses.
  19. Yes it will effectively increase the box size (make the speaker think it's in a bigger box that is).
  20. I was actally asking about the exterior finish of the enclosure. It looks like a painted on finish but I can't tell.
  21. Nice box. What did you finish the enclosure in?
  22. The 15" Magnums came today at 11:32 AM. I will be shipping some of them out tomorrow after I test and re-box them all.
  23. Larger box = lower F10's, higher F3's. More bottom bottom end. There won't be a huge difference in sound, but a larger sealed enclosure almost always gives you more bottom end. SQ will still be great in any box bigger than 0.4 cubes for a Magnum 12.
  24. Thicker MDF would be fine (1"), but 3/4" is a good thickness that's easily available. Why the 1.25...I have no clue. 1.5 is kinda big (at the top of our recommendations), but it sure wouldn't hurt anything.
