  1. 1 lb of polyfil in a 1 cubic foot enclosure makes the subwoofer think it's in 1.25 cubic feet. I would also line the walls with insulation.
  2. Magnum 12's displace 0.07 cubic feet. The drivers are now scheduled to be here around March 10'th.
  3. I'm not sure where you're getting this information, but 1.3 cubes isn't a majical number for a Magnum 12. We've had great results in everything from 0.8 cubes to 1.5 cubes sealed. If you box is either 1.3 or 1.2 cubes before polyfil and fiberglas insulation you will be fine. And resonances are peaks or dips in the frequency response caused by a number of things - one of them being lack of enclosure damping. This doesn't really matter in subwoofer enclosures, but it does help make the box seem bigger to the subwoofer.
  4. Yes we recommend using both - fiberglas and polyfil. Why? Because it helps with resonances and aids with effective enclosure volume.
  5. Magnum 12's displace 0.07 cubic feet. If you end up with less than 1.3 cubes you'll still be fine. Technically all they need is 0.5 cubes to operate at/below a .707 alignment.
  6. Yeah I saw that Jordan. Thanks for at least trying, but it seems like it's just conversation at this point. ...that, and just let them have their fun. We all know that Magnum's suck arse anyway.
  7. Essentially a BIG @$$ sealed enclosure. AKA: an enclosure so big that Qtc fails to drop below "critical listening" alignments. For most car audio people this means using the trunk as the enclosure. For home audio it is almost always using the crawl-space or the attic as the enclosure.
  8. Wiring our coils in parallel will give you a 1 Ohm load, which will allow your amplifier to do ~1000 watts.
  9. I think people have entertained the idea of IB but never gone through with it. If your car is already setup for IB, you might be the first to IB a Magnum. It should work fine, though. I don't forsee any problems.
  10. Here's a couple pictures of one of my shirts (literally pulled it off the hangar and put it on the floor):
  11. Yeah, I looked over the thread. Winslow can say whatever he wants, obviously, but he could go about doing it better IMO. Doesn't much matter to me though. I know how the drivers perform and I know that something has to be horribly wrong for it to just flat out sound bad. ...and I think I'll just stop there.
  12. PPI also made an A1200.2. My A600.2 was lightly modded to do 1000 watts, but there are plenty of other amplifiers out there for either single or dual Magnum's. *I just saw that you already said the 1200 tirefryr.
  13. I need to get a new batch of stickers made because all we have left are the window stickers, but I'll keep the board updated. Austin, shoot me $30 and I'll include a shirt. The embroidered polo's aren't cheap unfortunately.
  14. We have both shirts and stickers. The white polo shirts with our logo embossed on the front left are $30 shipped. We are actually running out of stickers, but I'll get more printed up and then post prices for the stickers as well.
  15. The 15's are just as efficient (actually more efficient) than the 12's are. So with the same input power the 15's are going to be louder than the 12's. But if you like your 12 that much I would just stick with what you already have and upgrade your amplifier later.
  16. Yeah, it gets more than loud enough for me. F-bodies are the jam for subs.
  17. Hey all, Scott Stoner just called me and gave me the news that with one of Clarke's 12" Magnum's in his vehicle with 1200 watts he posted a 150.8 on a new Termpro mic at a competition over in California. WOO HOO!!!
  18. 'sorry if you took it as being talked down to, but you put "LS8." And I've stated before that it doesn't matter whether or not GM actually used the engines in production cars. And on that note, I'll edit my post. Your post just rubbed me the wrong way at the time. My appologies. I'm sorry no one on this board has heard the drivers that you have to give you a good comparisson. Maybe later on someone will have a Magnum test against them.
  19. Basically what these other guys have said. I still can't compare the two drivers because I haven't heard the ssx's...and I actually don't know of anyone using those drivers in the lanes. However, you did mention that you had around 2.5 cu. ft. ported low, and the Magnum 15's will not work well in an enclosure that small. The 15's need around 4 cubes each ported.
  20. Actually the LS7's were rated at 470 hp back in 1972/73. The new current "LS6"s are a newer generation of the 350. Bottom line, we do our thing like we do our thing. And if anyone did their fair share of homework, you would find the word "Magnum" in a racing chassis. ...which completes the racing / performance aspect of our naming process so far.
  21. So what exactly do you want to know? I haven't heard the SExxx's, so I can't comment on the Mag's performance compared to your current drivers. What, specifically, do you want to know technically about my subwoofers? We do not / will not give out SPL estimates. There are flat-out too many variables.
  22. 14" cutout diameter on the 15". You could probably go smaller, but that works for us. An easy way to find out is to use the top egg-crate protection that comes with your Magnum. It's always the cutout diameter of the sub. B)
  23. Hey, not a problem guys. Thanks for the kind words. I made a promise when I started this compnay to never have bad customer service because that's my biggest pet peve. Maybe after we get huge we can buy the tooling for our 'claw' baskets and come back out with them. ...but by that time who knows what will be available. And yeah Lou, use bigger screws or somethin!
