  1. I have a MTX Thunder 6000 12" sub 4 Ohms SVC for $50 shipped.
  2. Oh 3 feet is fine lol The box I just took out of that trunk was 4.7 cu ft. so going down to a 3 cube leave even more room!
  3. Well I was told a 3' sealed box is best for what I want. its only gonna play 60Hz down, so I wanted it to go deep. We are looking at 37"X16"X12" or 41"X16"X11" depending on where I put my amp rack.
  4. Yeah this should be fun. I am being told a ported enclosure for this sub and 1050 watts would be too loud for my setup and I should go with a large sealed box instead lol
  5. Well I did it. I have a 15" in the mail to me!
  6. Well I have a SI 12" sub thats been in my room all winter waiting to be installed. Well then early spring I decided to change almost my entire system. I now have a Arc Audio 2500XXK to run my sub. This is one sick powerful amp at 1 Ohm which I plan to run that way for 1050+ watts. Anyway, I entertained the idea of putting 2 12" subs in my car, but then realized due to space problems in my trunk, that would not be a good idea. So now I am wondering with that amp, should I go with a single 15" instead? I assume the box would be a little bigger, then the box for the 12" but not nearly as big as what two 12" would take up!
  7. Yeah due to that, I think I will have to scratch the idea. The box designed takes up about as much space as I am willing to let go of.
  8. One other question though. What kind of space will I need for 2? I had a ported box designed for a single 12" and it takes up a good portion of my trunk!! Now someone once said to seal my trunk and not use a box. Does this mean that the trunk is no longer useable? Or that sealing up all the cracks and such with sound deadener would be fine?
  9. I am considering a different amp combination. Would a DLS A7 with 600 watts in 1 ohm, be enough to run a Gen 2 SI 12"? I only have 1 sub, but am considering running 2 A7's and get a second 12" sub. So how would 1 sub with 1000 watts compare to 2 subs with 600 watts each?
  10. Huh? So when the amp is wired bridged is it 2 ohm bridged mono or 4 ohm bridged mono?
  11. Don't laugh too hard, but I bought my 2nd Gen SI D2 12" sub so long ago, I forget how I was going to wire it. What Ohm do I wire this at? I ask because I may move the amp I was originally going to use to my midbass and need to find a new sub amp for this sub.
  12. Well no you can not go through the armrest, but yes the measures to seal my trunk is not something I reallt would like to do. I do have access into the cab of the car from the trunk through the rear speaker holes. I had to take the rear speakers out, because the sub pressure kept blowing them. Now I like a Front stage only system so well, I do not want to try to put rears back in.

Yes the owners manual for that amp says 2ohm bridged stable for 520 watts. And yes Bridged in the Right Positive and Left Negative.
  14. Ha Ha do not fall off your chair... Its going in a 1991 Geo Prizm! lol It was my grandfathers car when he passed, and well, for my life its perfect and cheap to run. So sealed in the rear corner in a fiberglass sealed enclosure is the winner? What size? 1.5 cu ft. or larger? Right now my box is 4.5 cu ft for my old woofer, so I have space if needed.
