Good morning to all. Ok, have a build question for the forum. I'm looking to get an 18" BTL soon and was curious as to what would sound the best in regards to sub direction. Room is not an issue as I have an SUV. I'd like to take a poll and get opinions on why you chose the following: 1.Sub up to roof and port to back of vehicle 2.Sub forward to driver and port to back of vehicle 3.Sub to back of vehicle and port to back of vehicle 4.Sub forward to driver and port forward to driver 5.Sub up to roof and port up to roof I'm really looking for ground punding and earthquaking when I want the sub to perform, yet sound decent with pop music as well. I have a broad range of music styles (i.e. hip hop, house, trance, rock, 80's rock, electronic). Thanks for your opinions!
  2. Looks like my option is out. My seller just e-mailed me my answers. These are not going to be for me. These 15"s are purely for SPL capable of the 170's. Back to the drawing board!
  3. "djmedik91- if the two 15" BTL's are fully loaded (built for daily use) then I would recommend two 15's over a single 18 any day. more cone area, and higher potential of power handling so potential to be louder. although I have seen a single 18 do over 170db! (wasn't a BTL, but it was a single 18)" According to my seller, these are the SPL subs so I am concerned about them not being built for daily use. I am not really looking for competition at this time and would like something that is going to play my music decently, and also subs that will take my breath away when I want them to. I don't want to have to buy these 15"s and then re-cone them just to have them sound decent. They are the triple stack magnets. I guess I could just procure one of the 15's and see how I like it. But then again, not too many people around where I live have heard of the Fi's and I''d be worried about trying to sell it.......................
  4. I have the same questions. I originally wanted to get just one BTL 18" daily but now I have the opportunity to get my hands on a couple triple stack BTL 15's. I',m just unsure of how much a difference there are between the two and if I will really hear that much of a difference. I have two Type R 12's now, but Fi is my next choice. I think I can get 2 triple stack BTL 15's for right at the cost of a new 18 BTL. According to the seller, they were used less than 5 times in competition and have been sitting ever since. What do you all think? Thanks and I'm looking forward to joining the Fi crew!
