  1. yeah, i was looking at one 10 and try to port the box. And haha yeah i really dont want it to fall apart right after i get it
  2. i am planning on getting a regular cab chevy colorado within the next few weeks and am starting to plan out the sound system. so far i know the h.u, door speakers and tweeters. but am not sure about the sub, amp or box. i have been looking at ssa and sundown audio. i am more into sq than spl and listen to a variety of music anywhere from rap to metal. and i have a budget for the sub, box, and amp of around 600 to 700. space is the number one issue since its a regular cab, i do not care if there is room in the back i just do not want to have to have the seat pulled up to an uncomfortable position.
  3. i would stick to the pioneer h.u because the kenwood's controls are way to complicated
  4. alright should the box be upward firing? thats what ive been told for convertibles
  5. i have a 1991 mustang convertible with a shoe box for a trunk. the dimensions are 10h x 9-11D x 40 width. i've been hearing great things about how the sa 8 is a great spl small woofer and wanted to know if i could really fit more than one into a box with such small max dimensions. i also need amp suggestions to run the one or two i will be getting thanks!
  6. sorry, will do Thanks man, Assuming you have a Mustang (as do i) you have a small trunk, I would suggest the Nightshade because they like and work quite well in smaller enclosures. What electrical do you have (big 3, batteries, High output alternator, etc)? They both get loud and sound great. yup 91 mustang convertible so im planning on puttin it in the backseat and doin a rear seat delete because the trunk is like a shoe box. and i do not have any electrical upgrades ill prob get a small kinetic hc 600 for the trunk or something. im also lookin at maybe getting two sa 10s instead of the 15 .
  7. yeah i might if i dont have work. is it a big show?
  8. thanks planning on getting that and a khaotic ported enclosure in my soon to be ext cab s10
  9. i have been looking around on the ssa store and am intrested in gettin 1 15inch sub in a ported box. i saw that the packages are alot cheaper than buying seperatly. which package is better for spl the xcon or sundown nightshade D2 both with a saz1500d. the xcon package is 819 and the sundown is 899.
  10. glad i asked before i bought thanks. i was thinking it would be an easy flip flop. im prob gonna get silk tweeters when i start my s10 project
  11. okay . but they will hook up like regular speakers if i can find any to fit haha?
  12. i wanted to know if a 3 1/4 bullet tweeter would fit in a 3 1/2 speaker opening in my dash. right now i have infinity 3 1/2 coaxial speakers and i thought the bullet tweeters might be louder. i was looking at the boss audio 3" and a few others . the depth of the openiing is 2 inches
  13. nice mustang i have a 91 convertible 4cyliinder and its funny how first and second hall ass then its slower than a turtle after about 60 or 65mph haha. i want to see the viddd
  14. alright thanks i just didnt want to waste my money without asking people who know their stuff first
  15. i wish but 1) where i live my top would get slashd and they would be gone in 2 seconds and 2) i can take out the backseat b/c i need the room for passengers or stuff that never fits in the tiny trunk. im hoping to have a enough for an 03 gt mustang next year and then i will do a real build and build log
  16. i only have 2 of the three pictured and yes i might be able to get a sae1200 for 250 $ and 2ohms
  17. i am not sure if i can port it . my trunk is very very small max height is 12inches , lenght is good about 40inches or so and width is only 10 or 12inches. i am not sure which re's they are my buddie sold them to me for 40bucks ill find a picture of them
  18. yes bass 60hz down and i think i might need new wiring. im running 6 guage to my hifonics brutus 1200d and 4 guage ground wire. but ive managed to hit 120db in the convertible which i think is a big goal
  19. yea i like the h.u but i had to press like 4 buttons at once to turn it on. im thinking about getting an eclipse h.u when i get my new car
  20. okay we'll i feel i need an eq because i would like to fine tune it more than just the broad range of bass, mid and treble. right now im running a kenwood KDC-MP345U which i find is way to complicated to use . it took me over 40 mins to find out how to turn the sub output on after reading the manual twice. my speakers are as follow 3.5 infinity coaxials in dash, 5.25 infinity coaxials in doors and 6x8 pioneer 3 ways in the back. i really like the infinity 5.25 and how u can boost the tweeter 3db or lower it., and finally im running 2 re audio 10inch subs in a 1.9 cubes sealed box that i built. they are being run by a brutus 1200d amp which i know isnt the greatest its my 2nd one in 4 months. this is my first install and first box i built. im looking for more bass but it is hard to do when i have a convertible.
  21. i have been looking around and seeing alot of people using external equalizers. my setup right now is 3 pairs of coaxial speakers and 2 re audio 10 inch subwoofers. i have a kenwood deck with the basic bass, mid and treble settings on it. my question is ,is it worth buying an external eq and will i see a big difference with it. i listen to a lot of rap so its bass heavy. and also if i should get an eq any suggestions on what brands ? i have a budget of about 100 to 150$ on one . thanks
  22. right now i have to re audio 10's in a sealed box in my 1991 mustang convertible. this is the dimensions of the box i have now 42" FrontWidth x 36" RearWidth x 8 H x 15" Depth its 1.9 cubes internal. i am planning on getting two ascendant audio arsenal 10's soon and wanted to make a fiberglass box. could i do this with such small space?
