  1. What am I looking for? A space between the box where its coming loose? And what do I use to fix it? Take a few screws and screw it in? Whats that goop that’s used to seal it so no air gets out? And where do I get it?
  2. I bought the box from Subthump.com When you say panel, what part of the box is that? And how can I fix it without tearing apart the carpet? Or is that a must? Lastly, how do I find out where its loose at? Will it be obvious? No the box isn’t secured down but it hasn’t been since I put it in. Its only a month old
  3. I have a down fire for 2 12s, sealed box under the seat of my silverado. When I turn the volume up to 13 everything sounds fine when playing a song with big bass. But when I hit 14+ it almost sounds like its bottoming out. But heres the thing, when I put my hand over the bump on the top of the box and press down, that farting, blurping, vibrating (whatever you want to call it) sound goes away. Its only happening on one side Is my box coming undone? Or is it probably my sub? If it could be a box issue, what can I do and how do I find out where the issue is?
  4. Are they notorious for breaking? If so how do I avoid it? Keep it from getting deep or what? My other RFs werent plastic cones. OH and can they be reconed if it does happen? Id hate to wait on RFs 6-8 week turn around time frame
  5. Not bad idea, I am getting them so cheap I can probably turn around and get 75% of my money back if I decide to upgrade at the end of the year
  6. I dunno I figured maybe only 4 screws could mean air leaks? Im just used to subs having 8 Youll probably all laugh but in the mean time since I hooked my system up last weekend Ive been using an RF Power HX2 and an eclipse 7200 Yes they are mis matched, but it still sounds good TO ME Maybe not to the car audio enthusiasts (sp?)
  7. I agree most will say wait and get the SSDs, but Im not someone to pour alot of money into my system. I "think" $220 for 2 12" P3s are a steal and I've always had rockford and never an issue with any of their subs. Plus Id still have the warranty on them. Do you think they can handle the 1200d without getting too crazy and boosting up all the settings? I know these P3s love small enclosures too Also I noticed only 4 screw holes for these subs?
  8. I was going to shoot for Fi SSDs or BLs to go with my sundown 1200d v2 But I can grab brand new Rockford P3s 12" for $220 from my buddy who bought them and decided to go a different route I know most of you on here eat, sleep and breath car audio but over all what do you guys think of these subs honestly? Can they handle a sundown 1200d v2 without turning everything way down? By no means do I plan on cranking it way up, but I just dont want to blow these subs with that amp. So for the price what would you guys do?
  9. ok will do Also Jay-Cee you seem like youd know the answer to this ? For a more of a HIT type bass is that a lower or higher frequency? And if I want to feel more of a hit do I adjust my crossover up or down?
  10. Would you think 1cu ft for each 12" SSD in a sealed box is choking them?
  11. I mustve missed it Tell me what ALL info you guys would need and Ill post it up that way I know when I test it that Im looking for the right readings. RMS power? 1200w right? Its an sundown 1200d v2 subs will be at 1ohm mono Deck is a pioneer DVD4100 I think, ill have to look
  12. No one has said yet if Im mutliplying by 4 or what because of the dual 4ohm VCs or do I times by 1 because thats the overall ohm load I will be at when I bridged the subs?
  13. Thats what you said in the other thread, help a guy out and clue me in. Like I said I read the "how to set your gain" thread but not only did it confuse me alittle I dont think Id end up doing it right anyways. Is there a more simple way to figure it out? Since you don't have a volt meter you can set it my ear temporarily, but try to get a hold of a volt meter and do it ASAP. Ok will do, but you also said I could fry my subs at 40%? Is that if I turn up my lows and bass boost on the deck? I "usually" have a good ear for when it starts to distort
  14. Ok so I re read the gain setting again. So id take 1200w rms for my amp and times it by 1ohm since ill be doing 1ohm mono? They are D4 voice coils 2nd, when I take the volate meter and plug it into the amps speaker outputs do I put them in the bridged locations or just choose L or R outputs and use just one side? And then I turn the gain up until the voltage read out equals what I come up with from the math you do with amp and ohm load? Why use a test tone cd? Will the voltage be jumping around while playing? or does it matter what music is on? Obviously the subs wont be hooked up but my mids and highs will be correct?
  15. Thats what you said in the other thread, help a guy out and clue me in. Like I said I read the "how to set your gain" thread but not only did it confuse me alittle I dont think Id end up doing it right anyways. Is there a more simple way to figure it out?
  16. That brings up a good question. If I have the gain set at like 40% does that mean Im not even coming close to that 1200w? Actually it means your gain isn't set correctly I read the thread about how to set your gain. But is there a happy medium where I can usually set it without having to get a volt meter
  17. The gain is set right at 40% Id say, do you guys think theres some room to turn it up some more? The deck is a pioneer indash dvd 4100 I think is the model number. 2009 model Ok ill set all the settings to what you guys recommend. Let me know if you think I can turn the gain up to 50-60%?
  18. Dont touch the bass boost and if you have to or are one of those people who dont see nothing wrong with it then make sure you set your gains with the bass boost taken into account. The subsonic filter should be around 5hz or less then tuning of port if you have a ported enclosure. No its sealed, so does the subsonic filter not matter or should it be at 0? What would be the difference of putting the Hz from 80 back down to 50hz? Is 50hz more punchy bass or rumbling type bass?
  19. I set the Hz to roughly 80, but what about this sub sonic eq and the bass eq that goes from 0 - 18db should I mess with these settings at all? Its 2 12s down fire sealed box incase that matters
  20. That brings up a good question. If I have the gain set at like 40% does that mean Im not even coming close to that 1200w?
  21. Something is up with Fi website and its not showing the price for an 12" SSD atleast its not for me? How much is a stock SSD?
  22. Its a downfire box, no one is going to know what it LOOKS like. And I COULD run 2 mis matched subs. I only have 7.5 of depth so a DCON is out Im thinking Fi SSD Sorry I was thinking XCON, the dcon is the bottom line sub right? I dont know if 2 of them could handle the sundown 1200d v2
  23. Well the box is built so each sub has its own chamber so I can run 1 sub for now but Id like to add a 2nd one for the time being. Then upgrade to 2 BLs for my bday in July Im impatient lol I know REs arent as good as they used to be, but if I can pick up an SEx for $160 shipped maybe I should just go with that and then sell it when Im ready for the BL? Unless any of you can think of another sub thats close to that price that I can snatch up
  24. I listen to just about everything so it needs to be an all purpose sub. My budget? Id like to keep it $200 or less. Then in 6 months I can upgrade to say 2 BLs
