Fi BL 12 help. (Vid)
just tested each. Only one has voltage running through it. Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!!!!! that is your problem! Also you need to have at least 2 speakers wired to the LOC, do that and make sure you have voltage running though both RCA cables and i bet your problem is fixed. Just finished wiring both speakers to the LOC, now I have voltage through both RCA cables! AND, the voltage increased from .5 mV to about 1 volt Although I do realize this still does not compare to a decent HU. It will work in the meantime. Hopefully this will make a difference when I can test it out tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the help!

Head Unit is definitely in the soon future. That will just require me to rewire all the speakers, since they're currently running off the little stock amp. That will be a whole different project.

I only have the LOC spliced into one rear speaker though. I think that is why I'm only getting signal through one cable? And with the HU, I have the "premium" sound system. So I'd have to bypass the stock amp and all, would just be a pain.

I'll test that tomorrow. Hmm, what do you mean? I touched the negative to the white RCA and the pos to the other. Do you mean, pos on center wire, and ground on shield of each cable?

From about halfway to full there is almost no difference.

Got .5 mV (AC right? )

Got it off of ebay. Just search stinger voltmeter, there will be many results.

I will go test the LOC. Do I have to turn the system up to do so... or can I just have it on period to get a voltage? And with the LOC, there is a knob for levels, and it has been maxed since I got it. I tried changing it, and it only got quieter.

Fi BL 12 help. (Vid)
I posted a thread a couple days ago about my Fi BL 12 having low output. Thought I'd make a video today that may be better. Any help would be great! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWIuMzCh2e0

I have a dilemma.
Yes. The levels were already at max from factory.

Couple wiring questions
Aha. That was my thread from a few days ago on the same topic I just trimmed the wires a bit.

I have a dilemma.
Oh I have. From about 1/2 to full there's almost no audible difference.

I have a dilemma.
New piece of info. I had some more time with my system today. I noticed that if I'm listening to my music at my normal volume (about 2/3) it's not very loud. BUT, when I turn the bass on the HU up to 5/5, it gets muchhh louder. To where I expected it to be. Now I know better than to turn the bass up that high, as it will introduce clipping, it's usually on 0/5 now. Could my problem just be a bad/low voltage signal from the LOC?

I have a dilemma.
But thing is, I never touched them to begin with. Who knows what factory set it to..

I have a dilemma.
I may reground it to a new spot. Ohhh, the woofer is definitely wired right, I quadruple checked that and then quadruple checked it again before I screwed it down. With the LOC, what does it mean by levels? And would you know which direction of the screw would do what? Take a picture of the LOC if you can get a good one... I would like to jump in but can't picture what you mean in my head... lol Eh, too late now. It just has a screw to adjust the levels. Almost exactly like on an amp.

I have a dilemma.
It worked fine for my last system leaving it untouched... So I thought

I have a dilemma.
Going from 2 Kicker Comp 10s running at 150 RMS apiece will be more output than a Fi BL 12 at 1200 watts? Well, different amp. Grounded at the same place, but with 1/0. And power is 1/0. If that's what you mean.

I have a dilemma.
All it has is two screws, and says "levels" next to them. I have not touched them since my last system.

I have a dilemma.
Today, I just finished installing everything in my car. It includes, Fi BL 12 Sundown SAE 1200d Ported box tuned to 33hz. 1/0 all around. Big 3 already done. I got everything done, and went for a drive to a less populated area. I started to play some music, and noticed that, this setup was hitting just about as hard as my two previous Kicker Comps on 300 watts in a sealed enclosure, if not less. I knew this wasn't right My setting on the amp are as follows: Subsonic filter: About 30 hz Crossover: about 60 hz Gain: About half (Not sure what to set it to exactly since I'm running off a line output converter <---- What I think the problem is coming from) And it's just not hitting hard at all. What did I do wrong?

Wiring question.
Taking the 4 wires straight to the amp will not work, unless I go through the port with the wires (Which I don't really want to do ). Will this approach work... Still using a wire on each terminal on the sub, and connecting them at their corresponding terminals on the inside of the box? Then I will have just 2 wires leaving the box.
-
Wiring question.
And this would be a 1 ohm load, correct? Assuming that your sub is a dual two, then, yes. It is, it is. The 2 sets of terminals on the amp basically come together inside, right?

It does, yes.
