Best way to remove paneling.... Get a plastic spatula, lift one edge, rip it off. Then go get a special double stick foam tape remover eraser. Goes on a drill and just peels the stuff right off, leaves no residue, just need to brush off the eraser chunks. I used them all the time, works wonders
