  1. I've built a few boxes tuned in the high 40's and they did great on rap and rock. I was talking to him a little more today and he said he will be playing both rap and rock (mostly rap), so it will probrably be tuned 38 and if he's not happy then we'll just have to play around with a couple different ports and see what he likes best. Thanks for all the input
  2. I was thinking that since its going to be a small box that i should tune higher and he likes a lot of rock music too. What about 40hz and a little less port?
  3. I'm gonna be helping a friend build a box for 2 cvr 15's. It will be in the trunk of a 4 door saturn ported through the rear deck. I haven't played with cvr's much so im not too sure how to get the most out of them. Space is limited so i was thinking maybe 7 cubes with 112" of port tuned around 50. Starting it this weekend and could really use some help. Anybody have experience with these subs in different boxes?
  4. He's too impatient and lazy for all that work. He thinks he'll be able to fill in the low spots with just resin, but i don't think its gonna work like he's thinking. Either way he's gonna get tired of it and just end up wrapping them.
  5. I went over there today and he had already finished putting on the first layer and did the second one. He has trouble getting the mat to stay down He wants to paint them but I dont think thats gonna happen
  6. Here's what the layout he came up with looks like We added some more support for the rings and then started stretching some fleece over the panels And then on to layin some glass Didn't feel like mixing another batch of resin so thats all we got done tonight And of course i had to put this one up more pics to come let me know what you guys think
  7. We layed some resin on the doors to make them keep their shape before we pulled them off
  8. Im helping a friend build some fiberglass door panels for his 93 nissan hardbody. I don't like the design or the equipment he's using but it's his truck and im just there to help him get them looking decent. He's doing 4 5.25" dayton mids, 4 audiopipe tweeters, and an autotek 4 ch amp in each door. He picked up all the equipment for just over $300 new. On to the pics... here's some pics of the truck
  9. ive never heard the old style xxx but that amp should match up to it pretty good. i would go with the xxx and then do the big 3 and add some batts. maybe someone thats used the old xxx will give some input but if it was me thats what i would do.
  10. if you like sound quality then you should probrably go with the re xxx but i would get a bigger amp. 1500 watts wont do a whole lot of justice for the xxx
  11. i guess ill just leave it the way it is until im ready to do 8 15's
  12. ascendant audio chaos will play pretty low and they are rated at 800 rms but will take more if you wanted to
  13. sorry 4th order bandpass
  14. You do realize bandpass tuning isn't he same as ported tuning, right? A 35 hz tune would give him NO passband at all. If the sealed chamber is reasonable, it would play the hell out of about 30-40 hz and nothing else, and won't be loud doing it. The front chamber needs to be tuned much higher, like 55-60 hz. thats what i was thinking. ive always been told 4th orders shouldn't be tuned below 47hz. mine performs really well between 28 and 52ish i only have 2 subs playing right now and im sure it will change when the other 2 are in and playing. i want it to play low and get somewhat loud and i want more port area if thats possible
  15. right now box is tuned to 43.5 and i want to keep it about the same because i like how it sounds in my truck
  16. incriminator wont give anyone any of the ts parameters. they say to use their recomended box sizes but they dont give anything for bandpass enclosures. i dont know much at all about 4th orders but i didnt think the port size varied with each sub
  17. subs are 4 incriminator death row 15's
  18. i bought a 4th order box from someone and i want to make the port bigger but not sure how much port area i should have. i was told by a couple people that for a 4th order i should have around 20 square inches per cubic foot of the ported section. the ported section of the box is 13 cubes so i figured 9" x 29" would give me 261" of port which would be 20" per cube. right now i only have 198" of port which puts it at just over 15" per cube. im not sure if this is the correct way to do it so i was hoping someone on here could help me out with this thanks.
  19. high 160's on music? are you sure? that is really impressive
  20. That is really going to come down to user error more than company error since subwoofers play what you tell them to. i realize that but im still asking anyways just to see what people think of them.
  21. im basically looking for reviews on any db drive product so thanks for your input.
  22. im just tryin to find out if anyone has blown any or had any kind of problems with them.
  23. x2 the rear output is full range and not made for subs you could use it but you would get better performance and sound out of it by using the sub out
  24. I am planning on doing 6 DB DRIVE plw12d2's in a 4th order enclosure because im getting a good deal on them. I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever used DB DRIVE before or seen a set up with them and what they thought. I have 2 right now on 600 watts ported and they don't really move at all and it metered somewhere around 138 (can't remember exactly). They are rated for 1,000 rms each and i had 1,000 going to the pair for about a week to see what they would do and it metered at 143.1 so they don't seem to be too bad. I talked to a couple people on other forums about these subs and everyone is saying that they are pretty impressive if you put 1,000 - 1,200 on each one but im just looking for some more input before i buy the other 4 and build the enclosure.
