I did the math and found out i would need 34.6 volts @ 1ohm=1,200watts...i don't have access to a o-scope, i know there will still be clipping, i just want to minimize it. The DMM i used last time was from the 1980's...i shouldn't have trusted it.

well sorry to make such a big thread about repairing a subwoofer...i ended up going with Fi for the repairs, and school has kept me occupied , took almost a month to get it ordered haha

found the specs i had for my box this really blows, think i had it set to low...i didn't really mess around with the low pass on my amp, is this even repairable?

i cant remember the exact number, but i know i set it for 1000watts @2ohms...steve meade had a chart for that, even used a 50hrz test tone @ 0db

so as i was driving around with my friend, my sub woofer started hitting the bass really weird...shortly after a burning smell came...almost like a grinder, then no more bass! well ive had my sub since jan, hooked up to a DSC2000.1d, wired @ 2ohms, 56.1v on the multimeter, 2.5cf ported box...every thing was done right! why would this happen? should i contact Fi about getting this repaired?

i had a fan inside of it for an hour then let it dry for another 2hours in the sun ya read online it can eat away your sub ouchhhhhhhh

thanks guys tried to make the install as clean and simple as possible, and i used 2" dry wall screws on the top, but didn't go over kill...but i kind of went crazy on the silicone haha

carpeted my box today wish i would make the port black no more truck space but it bumps pretty hard

now im waiting for every thing to dry...i got carried away and forgot to take more pictures

the port on the box that i built is 2.5 inches wide, seems pretty decent to me
