hey some more quick questions... when i get the recone done im probably only gonna be sending in a motor is that all good with you guys? i know its gonna need a basket and need to be coned. also can the sub be coned to a dual 1 ohm even if i dont send in a motor from a dual 1 ohm sub thanx for the help

thanks guys im trying to fit 2 18s in the back of my escalade so 12 cubes after displacement n bracing sounds very possible if i go ported (as planned) im trying to maintain use of the back window since its my dd. also about 30 hz is what everyone has said so far for the tuning. anyone heard these sealed? is it def worth it to go ported? im looking for a clean responsive sub that your gonna feel in your chest. also duran i thought about posting this in the fi forum but i figured us amps owns Re and that if i posted this in the fi forum someone would say what you said only the other way around. also i kno greg knows a deal bout xxx's and would prob help out

ive never heard a complaint about the xcons only that they pound on another note i would just take everything one step at a time and save up and grab a h/o alternator and as was already said def get 0 guage your amp and new sub will appreciate it

lol ya thats what i hear. it looks like a very minor surface scuff but i notice it because the surround is laminated somewhat or at least has a shiny reflection and on the scuff it is a little lighter than the rest i am debating wheteher to take up a claim with ups but if i file a claim i beleive ill have to give them the sub and then wait weeks for justification if i am not gonna have problems other than cosmetic than i could give a f--- less

just got my 04 reconed re xxx and i noticed when ups dropped it off the box wasnt in great condition so i looked inside and the sub is fine except for a couple spots on the surround where it looks like it was chafing on the cardboard box, i can take a picture if you guys want but it is very unnoticeable and prob hard to see in a pic, it isnt gouged at all just some surface rub just wanna kno if this will become a problem

oh ur right its double baffle but only mounting to 1 3/4 peice of mdf

khaotiks double baffled but they tune at 33hz and most people seem to be tuning in the 20s including you how did it sound at 27hz trying to get a couple of opinions cuz i dont know the enclosure specs for the sub

anyone know the recomended ported box size or if you own one what size and frequency for tuning u use im thinkin maybe a khaotik enclosure but cant find box specs

its goin in an suv i just wanna know what a good size ported enclosure would be as well as frequency for tuning since i cant find there specs from that far back

just checked and seen they do got 18'in enclosures woohoo!

i had 2 15 comp vrs in about 8 cubes net at 32hz and that shit was loud only metered a 140 on tl (just for fun) but def enough for my daily driver also i had them in a prefab audio enhancer kpvr model and they sounded a lil cleaner(for a compvr) but didnt touch the lows like the custom box i dont kno the dimensions exact but i beleive each sub had 2.75cft... to sum it up def get a custom box by someone who knows what they are doin or grab a khaotik they look f'in sweet, needa throw sum enclosures for 18s or special orders so i can grab one

the peice of metal under the rem notation for remote wire in pic five looks burnt that is the positive input if it burns up it could loose its connection being why it doesent power on at all and all your dmm readings are normal

Hey sup fi, i just grabbed a re xxx 04/05 model and it was recently reconed i was trying to find out the specs/what was put in it since i am interested in getting another one reconed. Apparently it has integrated leads,stiffer spider, fullsized dustcap, and an original xxx vc. I was trying to figure out if that is just the standard recone with the leads option and spider option or if i need to ask for something imparticular. The guy who i got it from said it was done by scott at fi and he should remember him by name since he went to fi and dealt with scott while there i was hopin he was right but either way the guys name was treston rego

The positive input on the inside looks pretty burnt up, especially the corner, maybe a shadow but looks blackened check out pic 4 n 5 and look at your amp
