The type r's do have more xmax, but that isn't the deciding factor. On another note, I'd like to say that I've ran L7 15's before and didn't think too highly of them, but I think mostly my install was the mistake, not the sub choice. Trying to figure Alpine vs Kicker? Every thread i go to seems to turn out like this one. To me.. Kicker seems to produce ghetto dirty bass and response to music, dont get me wrong.. it does get loud but... Alpine seems to have cleaner bass and response to music and get loud doing so. I am aware of the shitty terminology

Lets say my box called for 1 inch mdf. Couldn't I just take (2) 1/2 inch and cork the middle? Mostly for a cost effective measure Why are you wanting to do this though? - Whats your goals dude?

I have never seen or heard of making a box, then putting cork on the box, then putting another sheet of wood on it.. I have seen and heard of putting sound deadener in/out of a box.. but i wouldn't do so.

I hate the fact I never had my Type R's metered!! BUT If he does get the Alpine Type R's, give them 2-2.5 cbft for each driver.

About the DMM: i never used a DMM for my recent PDX1000, because i never took the time to break it down with someone like my friend kirill007 did. I have always done it by ear, i just figured an amp.. and every amp should set it with a DMM, but i stand corrected. Naw I didnt get these kind, way to harsh to my ears but to each its own. Like said before you wouldnt need 4 at all, since they are so sensitive you would actually need a lot more component sets than what you have just to keep up with one of these tweeters. So with my mids i do the following: 0. Have car on. 1. Take it from the top and set my Crossover to 150hz. 2. Put a CD in with good Mid bass. 3. Turn listening volume to them Max i play on a regular biases. 4. Then lower the Crossover setting untill the Mid Bass Speaker is getting too much Excursion. 5. Once the Mid Bass Speaker is getting too much Excursion start turning the Crossover higher so the sub isn't getting too much excursion. Sound about right? As of now though i have no Sub(s) so blending isn't an issue though but i do appreciate you taking the time to help me. I know for Sub Amps set the Subsonic filter around your port tuning and LP 80-100 I've tried looking on google for pictures so i know what filters are on the PDX 4.100, went through multiple pages untill i just gave up.
