  1. It is also very simple to model a driver/enclosure combo in WinISD to see the actual feet per second that air will have flowing in and out of the port. Andrew
  2. Too bad that 160 amp alt you speak of is rated when its cold and for a short burst, when you get the car up to normal temp your 160 amps becomes more like 100 if your lucky. Andrew
  3. What you hear about their SPL is true, but they are not allowed in db Drag if I remember correctly. Andrew
  4. Seems like one of the leads is broken and every time you tap the cone it makes a connection again for a short amount of time. I would take it out of the box for a visual inspection. Andrew.
  5. I would start by redoing all of your grounds and doing the Big 3 with 1/0. I only run about 600 watts right now with factory alt but get no dimming lights at full tilt because I have done the Big 3 with double 1/0. Andrew
  6. I have killed many yellow tops in my days... My batt of choice is Odyssey... good enough to be used by the military
  7. I like the copper lugs that my local Lowes carries. The 3/0 version fits kicker 1/0 nicely. Andrew
  8. Second layer of the double baffle done and test fit with a 12 inch HK501. I feel sorry for your UPS man :/ Back glued on, bracing soon to come
  9. Here are the different color of carpets we can cover the enclosures with.
  10. The rest will be completed tomorrow along with the carpet. Andrew
  11. Port sanded down Round over Port glued in Other side glued in
  12. Three sides together: Port Piece: Group Shot!!!
  13. If you are having trouble fitting the round ports in the box just go with your standard slot port. The only ports that are going to let you get away with less port area are the ones with flares on both sides (psp-inc). With those you can get away with about half the port area of a slot or round (non flared) port. Andrew
  14. But of course! I'm going to get started on it today
  15. The three most common ways of getting Xmax are via FEA, Klippel, and Dumax. The Dumax has issues with measuring long throw drivers as it can not create enough pressure. Andrew
  16. Yea, basically I'm going to be building one based off your woofer. So PM me with your sub and I will get you a price via PM. Andrew
  17. http://www.parts-express.com/images/item_standard/091-1245_s.jpg Those are them. What you see on the outside of the box unscrews and you are able to just twist it down tight. So basically these things eliminate the weak point (plastic terminals) as most other boxes would have. Andrew What if I go ghetto style and put bolts instead. Would it work as good as these. Just don't look so cool? Yup they would. I'm not sure what all thread is coated in, so it might not conduct as well as these Dayton ones though. Andrew
  18. I will send you a PM with the details Andrew
  19. Thanks for all the comments We look forward to building many more!!
  20. Nice work so far and I'm for sure feelin that logo, slick look!
  21. W00t, we are going to raise them just slightly as the cost of the new carpet is 4 times that of the old stuff!!!
  22. Ok here is what I have. 32 Hz Tuning. 37.25 Wide (38.75 after .75 indented sides) 17 Deep 18.5 Tall Gives: .09 Bracing .28 Sub disp 3.5 Air Space for Subs Port is 17 tall x 3 wide, yielding 51 sq inches of port, which comes out to 15.57 per cube. Double baffle, flush mount, grey carpet (I need to get you samples), Dayton Audio terminal. Since we upgraded the carpet we are adding $10 onto the price of ported boxes, which brings your total to $210 shipped. Andrew

  24. So heres the story... We started to carpet this bad boy with a cheaper grade carpet but decided it was not going to be up to our standards, so we ripped it off and redid it with this stuff NO PLASTIC TERMINALS ON OUR BOXES!!!!
