Welcome to the IHoP
Hmmm, W18 + FF85k in the Jeep ? Truthfully you'd be better off with the ER's or CA's. The extra clarity in the lower midrange of the Excel isn't really the right thing to compromise in a car. CA's would have been my second option. I wonder if they are an improvement over the Mach 5 MLI's. I guess I should try mine one day since I think they use the same mounting hole... Huge improvement in every aspect. Would feel sort of like a wasting the potential for midrange since my midbass is LP'ed at 200Hz. Gah, this has me thinking now about a pair of Extremis 6.8. I don't want to step up to an SLS8 since it's way too much weight for the doors. How much do you want for the CA18's ?

Personally I'd cut channels into the MDF so you can slide the PVC in and use some long screws from between the tubes towards the inside and grab the MDF panel. Seal off the gaps from the inside with some chopped fiberglass and epoxy resin and you can probably call it a day. You will probably have to install the 10" tube before the 8" tube.

Yeah people at work are always asking for advice in car audio.... I give them a price for what they want subs/instillation wise and they bring up something thas not even within the same level they want for less. Because of similar events I help a select few people anymore, but everybody wants to hear and see my stuff. Go figure. It's been some weeks of me demoing the 12 and I am already sick of people asking me what is this and what is that. I get it you want to know what brand and wattage it is, but please stop asking how much I paid. Oh yes, I am loud because it's wired to 1 ohm, if it was 2 I'll be like... pshhhh. I just invite those kind of people to a competition...they quickly shut up

Welcome to the IHoP
Main reason why I rarely help people with installs... My spare time is short and I really don't want to spend it chasing some electrical gremlins for people who want to mooch off.

Got a Fi BL 12 for FREE!
It's not about being pro (or against) a brand, it's more like being pro doing things right. If it were me, I'd try to extend the lead.

Saturday's project... Same class as me, 3000w and a single 12 Pretty good for 4 hours of testing. Deceivingly simple setup

I see no reason to buy the recone from a different place. That would be like owning a Ford and going to a Lexus dealership to replace your blown engine.

Do you have a traction/sway bar installed? I missed it if you already said. As of yesterday I have bigger sway-bars than stock. Some came with, some came without a rear sway bar. Mine didn't have one. And I will probably build a traction bar after the ugly wheel hop in deep snow.

I've got some samples from Optimum Nutrition, didn't try them yet. Their whey protein tastes delicious mixed with water. I have unflavored whey isolate, and that tastes fine to me. After a work out I make protein fluff. ~60g whey, little milk / water, frozen berries, and use a electric mixer for five minutes. Fluffs up big, throw it in the freezer for ten minutes, and it's almost a dessert. Plus the satiety is good in comparison to a shake. I usually mix one scoop (24g) with water and drink one in the morning after breakfast and the second either right after a workout or at around 8pm.

Unfortunately I doubt I will travel more in the very near future. The whole management is pleased with how I handle work (word even got to the Technology VP) so no overseas training unless I am assigned to a new project

Welcome to the IHoP
Went for a drive to the gym (it was rainy plus I wanted to test the Addco's). The rear axle finally feels connected instead of just flopping around. It feels a bit more confident when swerving and taking turns. Bad side is that for large pot-holes it throws me around a bit more. Feels better on rough-ish roads though, which I find weird.

Plane tickets bought, hotel reservation done, now I need to find trains and tell Emerson how much I need for my trip in the UK. Going there for 10 days, work pays everything except food.

Installed the rear Addco, everything went fine. On the front, the sway-bar link cushions were too big and I couldn't install them. So I reinstalled the old, shot, rubber cushions and I'll cut a bit off the new poly cushions. GAH

Do they clean more than rated ? I mean super-duper shiny instead of just super-shiny ?
