Welcome to the IHoP
The boat builders do awesome stuff without a doubt. Wish I could get close to that level...

D'oh, you drove an SWB, leaf-sprung front and rear car, with lift. It's a given it will ride like crap. I honestly felt the Cherokee more comfortable than the VW on long drives.

KM2's are on the list once the Maxxis Bighorns wear. Or Maxxis Trepador.

Time to hit the gym. Going an hour early in hopes that it's not packed with resolutioners...

I do miss those tires. Their road roar made me feel like I was driving some monster or something. With the windows down the exhaust drowns out the tire noise and windows up I can't hear the tires or exhaust

Thanks! I'll get some pipe and measure to see what I have to do to mold flush with the flange, then I'll let you know. Kewl !

Port flares for sale, 8" and 10" diameter pipe
Alright, I measured the mold with 3 tape measures and a set of calipers and all the times it was 219 mm, which is 8,62204724". Add the thickness of a layer of masking tape it it should be spot-on. 3/32" off would have been 2mm off the diameter, which is unacceptable and impossible since the mold doesn't change between flares If you used a tape measure, I suspect the red part in the picture is where the extra 3/32" are hiding. Tape measure is in thicker lines.

Congrats, I had them on the explorer. What you said about the explorer's suspension is always in the back of my head when I think about suspension changes. I have softer, oval bushings in the control arms, loads less vibrations transferred to the body. Trying to get a balance between rough road comfort and on-road stability. It is a box on 2 sticks after all though so I won't ask much... Which part of what I said? IIRC at some point you said that the Explorer ended up with a too firm ride from poly bushings and other upgrades. And that makes me think "keep it simple"

I usually go for packaging tape and never had problems with fiberglass sticking to it

Definitely makes sense, verse having a large panel with no support in the center. I was just curious if the orientation on having the edges overlap for cutouts was a big deal or not. I usually aim to be able to laminate all the needed pieces and then attach them easily. For your example You either need very long screws to attach the baffle or drill long countersink holes if you laminate first.
