  1. I ALWAYS build the foundation first, but what would better suit you now? Stock axle is "ok" and the LSD works. Upgrade axle is a Ford 8.8 with selectable locker. Would also mean an upgrade in braking. New turbo is VNT and it means lower EGT's (less risk of head cracks and heat related problems) and better response. Damn logic...new turbo is what I need... Do you have a way to control the VNT? I presume it's vacuum actuated? The ones I'm looking at are actuated by means of electric motor + controller unit. So I can either rig a stepper motor and control it with a microcontroller or use the standard controller unit and just give it signals. Much better than vacuum control either way. One problem is I have to pick the brain of TDI tuners...which is not going to be easy. One big plus with seems to be a reduction of exhaust manifold pressure. Basically it should be around 1-1.5x the intake manifold pressure. Once I get my boost gauge in I will also measure exhaust manifold pressure, I suspect it's very high with a small wastegated turbine.
  2. Yep, my Jeep is diesel VNT FTW! They are on the third generation, nothing like the ones you are familiar with. We had a second generation VNT on the VW and it was all good. Obviously I will have to design and program my own controller which means loads more time in tuning than actual fabrication.

  4. Should I save up money for a new turbo or for a new rear axle, with locker ? HMMMMMM... Part of me says turbo...

  8. Think there would be an audible difference from your current amp? Just got a bunch of tunes, time for listening. Do I think that it would be audibly louder? Maybe. 300watts to 800watts is almost triple power. Do I think that It would audibly have less distorion and clipping. YES! I am pushing the current amp to its limits and would like to get back some headroom if nothing else. I can shut down my current amp in about 15 minutes at full tilt. Luckly I only have a 20 minute drive to work. I will link you a few more tunes here in a minute, for your midbass quest. I didn't know you were running out of headroom and introducing unwanted awesomeness into the signal. Should be a nice upgrade. Sweet. I've been listening to a bunch of Primus and Buckethead lately. It's funny how Buckethead varies in genre from one song or album to another. I did find a sweet track demoing: Steve Strauss / Mr. Bones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc61ITqWh9I I have than in good quality from a local competition disc. If anyone wants it, I can share.
  9. Happy Birthday Ryan ! ! !

  19. It still has to go through the frame and if cable is plentiful I'd rather see a run of negative too. See hardcore Street A and B cars...they all have both ground and positive ran directly...
  20. Common shepard dog but still athletic and smart I'm going to take her back to the country house for a weekend this spring, we brought her here 4 years ago when my grandparents passed away.
  21. My faithful "sidekick" helped me today by shredding some fiberglass. I swear, she does it on purpose to distract my attention. She was waiting for me to look away before shredding some FG strips I needed.
  22. Yeah, with some friends. Nothing too exciting, since they are all in their late 20's / early 30's. One of them said it's the first New Year's party he's been to and people didn't do the countdown...poor guy was hammered
