  1. Closest I've been to something like that was 100 feet away, it scared me pretty bad.
  2. They're afraid of physical work.
  3. Indeed. Amusing really. If I don't like a band a year or so down the road it's a pretty strong indication that they were shitty to begin with. I still have the first album I ever bought myself and still listen to it on occasion. Sean would hate the dance music I have on the can's at work during the day to keep me cranking along. What kind of dancing? The sweaty kind that european women love in massive night clubs that don't close until sunrise. I need to round up some college friends and go clubbing. The week after graduation was awesome
  4. Am not ! Finished a prototype LED power supply, cut some wood for the work bench and installed a huge vice, organized some stuff in the garage (ever since moving i nothing was in place) and put together a customer's SPL box. Sweet What sort of supply? Amplified zenner, it's in the pics, very tiny. Don't have an inductance meter yet to build a buck converter. High power app? Depends on what Darlington transistors I can find. Parts shop said they had some 60A ones. 50 LED's shouldn't be a problem for a 60A transistor. Went to a movie tonight otherwise the 9 LED proto would have been ready. Weekend out of town (company payed trip), maybe I'll finish it tomorrow afternoon

Speaking of LED's, where is the best place to buy them? I only need around 5 or so. ebay. That's where I got mine.
  6. I've always laughed when people say they are bored, because what I hear them say is "I am boring". I always tell the people who complain they are bored that they should come help me with my projects.

  8. It was dad's pick. But I can imagine it's way better than the small vises we have. Needs cleaning and some black paint though.
  9. Getting closer to finishing up the garage: This is a flare after a single wet sand with 600, nothing else done after getting it off the mold. Hooray for wax LED power supply. With a 3.8v upper limit / LED, I can safely drive sets of 3 LEDs. Can't wait to try it out Small DMM shows battery voltage, big DMM shows output to LED's
  10. Yes, but the way one of them was mangled (in terms of the aluminum), the rebuild job looked like it was on the TOTALED scale when only the front corner was really damaged. If I trusted Audi, reliability wise better, an A4 or A3 set of keys would be in my hand right now. An A3 would be about perfect for me right now, with more power and AWD, that covers the two things lacking in my current scooter. I trust Audi WAY more than Mercedes. Hasn't Mercedez made significant improvements in recent years? I know a lot of their cars are frequently at the bottom of reliability surveys. Not like they were in the 60's... All the way up to the mid 90's. Then something changed... I'd love me a W124 diesel.
  11. WINNAR !

  13. It's funny that you have the same amp as I do Good luck on the build, I'll stay tuned for more pics
  14. Yeah I think I just opened a can of worms on this *continues reading* What can of worms ?
  15. Different model years. The black Velocity amps were the older models, the white are newer models. They were getting blown out a couple years ago so they were really good deals for the power and quality. I haven't had the DR's for several years. Sold off the majority of my collection. I wanted to buy 2 DR amps from you when I first got into the game
  16. Do you keep yours in a bomb proof bunker too ?
  17. So I can use them as a ramp when I want to work under the Jeep.
  18. Awesome ! I want two please....
  19. If it's any consolation the only high output sub I have had in my car ever was in the SPL system, and that played only burps
  20. hallelujah Steel tipped flip-flops is what I use.
  21. Unwritten Law - Seein Red
  22. Awesome large format tweeters !
  23. No. And changing comp sets isn't the best way to get their either. I asked if it was a bad idea, you said no, but I'm assuming you mean no in general to the whole thing. So if I wanted more midbass, instead of mounting fifty speakers on my door panels, what would you suggest. If I crossover the subwoofers higher then it starts to sound sloppy, not as "tight". Simply put, my goal is more midbass. I have the door, dash, and kick panels to work with. Or maybe I should just look for the speaker with the highest RMS rating and give it as much power as I can before it blows. Instead of pointing the kick panel speakers from opposite sides (ex, speaker on driver side point to passenger, passenger speaker pointed to driver.) if I pointed both speakers to the driver? I haven't read a whole lot on alignments... I see JL has a 6.5" subwoofer, JL Audio 6W3V3-4.......................................... Have you considered going active? Considering all the fabrication work you're able to do a fullrange and a hardcore midbass would be pretty sweet considering your goals. Sean's mentioned the idea before and it seems like it would satisfy your goals. Yes I'm starting to consider to it. I'm thinking about: exodus anarchy http://www.diycable.com/main/product_info.php?products_id=538 sls 6.5 http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-6-7-woofers/peerless-830946-sls-6.5-woofer-4-ohm/ then SEAS Prestige 4.4" http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-4-midrange/seas-prestige-mca12rc-h1304-4.5-coated-paper-midrange/ Legatia L3 HAT http://store.12velectronics.com/products/Legatia-L3-Speaker-Set.html And finally some tweeters if needed. and getting a new amp, some crossover, or maybe a minidsp? I know I'm very strung out and indecisive today, just a bad day for me. No L3 please Check out Fostex, they made a replacement for the FF85k.
