  1. Bummer
  2. I have 6" cones for headphones at home If speakers would be ok at the office, I'd already have the 3" Faital's installed...
  3. False alarm, seems like the products I wanted exceeded the size limit. RockAuto still ships via USPS. WHEW
  4. Damnit, RockAuto apparently no longer ships to Romania by USPS MF'ers
  5. Yes, that is part of my challenge. Like to keep them under $75, but could splurge a little. Will be used in an engineering office, so sound really should not leak out. Over the ear is preferred. Respectable frequency range. No chrome (some Sennheiser's have chrome for some reason). Long cord as I have a very large desk and don't want to be tethered close to my machine each time I have to move over to look at drawing plots. Most listening at the office will be digital streaming, listening at home will be a mixture of the same and records. Essentially would like near reference quality with out near reference quality price that go over the ear. I'll be watching this closely...since I have similar requirements....
  6. I've never used a specific mold release wax. I have used normal car wax and I just apply a coat, let it dry, then apply several more in the same manner. Never had an issue and you can get a lot of wax at the dollar store. Make sure it's a paste though. Excellent ! Just need to touch up a section of the mold, somehow the paint got wrinkled, the mold must have had some moisture on it on that area and then I'll get busy with wax. PVA was such a pain, hopefully wax is better. And I've also come up with a new way to release the mold, should work without the need for leverage or hammering on the parts. I don't know how your molds are, but I've always used bondo applicators as a wedge to pop molds out. PM coming when I get home and I have pics at hand, wedge just doesn't work in my case.
  7. Those are looking good. Why not paint some texture and then paint them to match the rest of the interior ? That's what I plan on doing with my kickpanels. what brand of texture paint do you recommend? im concerned that its going to take me too long to get the pods perfect enough for paint or, with a textured finish, is that not a big concern? and for whatever reason im fucking terrible with spray paint... I found somebody used SEM, it was a Chrysler car, so I got lucky, didn't have to search for the exact texture
  8. I need to get a pair. Everybody in the office uses laptops so we don't even have fan noise. I need music ! I'm in the same boat. I need to invest in a set of headphones to leave in my desk someday. For now I make due with some Klipsch buds. I try to stay away from in-ears, a good buddy of mine messed up his ears with those. Something compact, over the ear, comfortable. And the Ipod will be put to use since I don't want to risk copying music on the work laptop.
  9. Dual monitors FTW, even though one is a 14" from a laptop. Still beats killing the alt-tab.

  12. UGLY. That ain't ugly. This is ugly. Half expected you to link us to blue waffle or something. That's just wrong. Just don't google it...

  14. Ryan1, how would you apply mold release wax ? Rub with a cloth, let it dry and then wipe it off with a clean cloth ?
  15. Done with the presentations and got installed in the new office and had time to set up the email account and whatever accounts I need. The 'fun' starts tomorrow.
  16. Thank you!
  17. That was my whole day today.... A little bit more tomorrow too. Death by powerpoint.
  18. First day at work tomorrow...woohoo ?
  19. If that's the case, you need to be light, so I'd stick to something like this:
  20. They should get people to do something useful and they would end up getting paid to let people build it for them. That would be the ultimate Tom Sawyer. The 'bad' part is that those who go there to play aren't qualified so they shouldn't be on a construction site. Took me around 150 hours to get enough experience to work at a decent pace.
  21. Daytime is getting shorter...winter is coming
  22. WTF is the trick there. I normally have to rent a splitter, but my axe doesn't look like that either... What kind of axe do you have? I have a wood burning stove and just use a splitting maul. I would never cut pieces that small, but I've never needed a splitter. A maul is a must for splitting wood, it helps if the wood you're using is as easy to split as that is and the chain does wonders for keeping it standing. 1. We don't know how fresh the wood is. 2. We don't know what wood it is. 3. The Fiskars axes are very very light (I love mauls) 4. The wood is probably frozen...
  23. http://news.yahoo.com/adults-life-sized-sandbox-near-las-vegas-strip-091241211.html Shit, a place where you can play with construction equipment... I'm lucky I get to play and get payed for it
  24. Neighbor's PC broke down the third time in 6 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous... Is it any reason for me to feel annoyed that every Sunday somebody takes over my schedule ? "Adrian, do this. Adrian, can you fix this?" Really, I want my weekends off. And off means I'm not doing stuff for anybody...
  25. Hai guys, I need a loud sub, which one do I buy ? Can you use the ones with radiator ? Are you stuck to the 'classical' ones which resemble a bulb ?
