  1. UK gallons are larger than US gallons, that's the sole reason. We don't get super-duper good fuels. 1 Imperial gallon = 4.54609188 liters 1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters UK gas also cost around twice the price as of what our gallon of gas cost, they give up car size and speed for gas milage more then we do. Trust me, I know the gas prices too well...I live in Europe On the flip side, my record in the Jeep has been 28mpg. US gallons... 28? In an xj? Going downhill? Diesel I told you TJ's have nothing on XJ's
  2. Sounds like fun. You do have an AC inside, right? If not, you are one tough ass mofo. 9 hours still make you one, but. My air is conditioned by opening the windows The fan also quit today, one less aid against the heat...
  3. They don't have the same emissions standards we do and they way they rate them is different. Higher octane has nothing to do with better gas mileage. European emission standards are very effed up. Can't wait to see if the jeep can pass emissions with the EGR off. If it does, the whole EGR setup comes out. Are you required to pass emissions tests from time to time? My state doesn't require this. It would suck to have to pass tests if you wanted to modify your car Yep, emissions and a series of checks to ensure the car is road worthy, every other year. And for diesels they rev the hell out of the cars, which is why I hate emissions testing. Last time I went with 235/75R15 and the max for the Jeep is 225/70R15, I got some mumbling from the guy doing the test. Eff this, I can't find good tires at the size which is standard.

  6. 9 hours straight on the backhoe, it was so hot outside I managed to get the engine up to 230F a couple of times. Only took 2 5 minute breaks to eat and I feel totally beat. The $$ is well worth it though

  8. Same here... Job promised me a laptop for work use so I probably won't need my PC for work
  9. I am confused, they have gone way up. Are you saying they are going to triple or they have tripled? I ask, because average credit went from 130k to 275k so far. I thought it was a higher jump lol. I just saw the graph for point/credits and it peaked up so high from the last time I saw it. Typical graph trick, saw that at the diploma project presentations. Use a high value as base-line and a small y-axis step
  10. Why are u moving a building? And how far? In the old days, when dad was in the CO2 business we used to have a huge CO2 tank next to the fence and the garage next to that. Now the tank is gone and we wanted to use up that space. Only had to move it 5 feet and it's one of those pre-fab garages with no floor. I'll upload some pics later on.
  11. Teh garage is in place. Took 6 hours of inching one side at the time with the backhoe but it's done. Now to reinstall the doors and organize all the stuff that's supposed to go back in.
  12. Feeling like you should be a part of the ballast? yes What's your standard work week like? (hours/days) Probably pulling it out tomorrow to put MN registration, wax, and add the 1100lb fat sac to it. Friday I am up to Fargo, but may be able to squeak out during the week. If not this one, then I'm off to CA and back the following weekend but its a bumblefuck on Labor weekend and I'll have the kids. After that back and completely read for a day nearly anytime. Perhaps I can even get "sick" I work 8:30-5:00p, however I can always ask for a day off. I'm unfortunately more available than I expected...... No fall semester for this guy. :( Dammit One thing I learned at college, if at first you don't succeed, keep trying. And I think that should be the case for most school related stuff.
  13. You're funny. You know damn well there is no "normal driving" when you have more fun under your foot. Must ... use ... power(s) ...
  14. Busy day today... Me and dad started moving one of the garages. It's made out of concrete and only has walls + roof, 22000 lbs total. The plan is to lift it enough to get some pipe under it and roll it to the new position. Ended up doing leg press exercises on the crowbar, with my head against the ceiling since I wasn't heavy enough to lift the garage. It worked perfectly. Time for pipe tomorrow.
  15. This reminds me of what I've been reading about Porsche, supposedly the sportier versions of the 911 have, amongst other goodies, seam welded unibodies...
  16. Time to detune it ?
  17. 20mi bike ride today, feels damn good. And I also felt hungrier than ever after the ride. Time for pancakes.
  18. No because I know how hungry boosted vehicles are. Granted it may be different on water. That's a whole different animal, tune, and drag, so I may be wrong, but with a vehicle, if you are into the boost, you are using up a lot of fuel. Keep in mind you are forcing air in and compressing it where as the NA can only suck air in. The more air you have, the more fuel you need, so the blower is always going to need more fuel and a lot more. Probably asking something dumb but why does it seam that all my friends report better mileage after addind turbo to their vehicles. By all my friends I mean 2. In truth my buddy and his dad. He slapped on boost to his 5.0, and their old pickup. In both cases he claimed superior to 10% mileage. The truck more than the car however the truck was in truth not at all street legal and was only getting 7ish before the FI. The turbo will only work under load and I'm sure you know how it works, with a turbo you have more control and can limp around like normal without ever getting into the boost, so you fuel consumption is just about the same. That's a good thing to take advantage of... After removing the muffler I can easily ride around town at 40 in 5th gear. Cruising at 1200 rpm = good mileage
  19. That's what I'm thinking and it will be far easier to do operations on the data.
  20. Yeah, that's not what he has; it's a newer model. My bad. This was the 98-02 version. 98-02 E55's were 349hp 03-06 E55's were 469hp 07-09 E63's were 507hp 09-Present E63's are 518hp This reminds me...I need to find a small grille in the bumper (next to the fog light), it's for an E50AMG, same round fog lights as I remember you have. Any ideas where I can look for it ?
  21. Eff updates.
  22. Whenever working on the backhoe I used hydro fluid to clean the gunk off my hands. Dust + grease = horrible gunk.
  23. MK4 Golf ? Typical, few made and the price skyrocketed after they stopped making them.
  24. Never heard one except in video clips but even so it's a wet dream.
  25. Doh, it's a diesel, normal to run out of steam at 4k. And you might have gotten one with stuck turbo vanes, which will either kill the top end or kill the low end. IIRC my diesel is as heavy as the 4.0 I6, makes the same torque, gets better mileage.
