  1. I finally could read / clear detailed codes on the Jeep. Had a check engine and limp mode because of the transmission, normal causes were unlikely because I changed the problematic parts. Codes said communication error and when I looked at the plug going in the transmission, 3 or more wires has the insulation worn off because the zip-tie holding them was lose. I wonder why I never noticed them when I worked there before.
  2. Boo, wanna come and visit ? I'd love to. I've been in Paris & Karlsruhe so far. In 4.5hrs I'll be in Berlin for a couple days and then up to Hamburg for the weekend. Back to HQ after that for M-W meetings and then home. There will be cheap flights from Cluj to Berlin (and obviously back) starting 2016. The company's main HQ is in Berlin, so if we time it right, we might meet up in Berlin

  4. Looks like fun! You would shit to see my buddy's jeep. Heh There were some awesome Jeeps there. Even a Samurai with a VW TDI, Toyota trans, 14" travel coilovers, and Mercedes G-Wagen axles and caged. Pretty bitchin, low center of gravity, short wheelbase and at a glance it looked like a lifted Samurai.
  5. They're good stuff. 165mm would be better but for $55 I can't argue.
  6. Dirty Jeep during the Romanian Jeep Club meet: I was very happy about how it handled the terrain. The gerotor LSD's front and rear are very useful. I'm not used to how the auto feels in low-range and I can't easily tell when the wheels are slipping.
  7. Far from ideal but so much better than it was before: It was completed two weeks ago but I forgot to post the pictures. The other side is under surgery now. The crap-work done by the germans some time ago is unbelievable. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel ! ! !
  8. You call that dirty ? Yes. Gross. Look at the schmegma growing on the bottom of the boat. Fucking green nasty plant life. I KNEW I should've said "truck" One day I'll take a pic of the Jeep in all it's beater glory.
  9. Turbo for the Miata is here. It has the drain tube and the coolant drain/feed tubes too. The shaft has ZERO play Pics later.
  10. Damnit, my nose is running like crazy and it won't stop. Yay....
  11. Why would you have a misalignment? Something worn or broke? No idea, but I've mulched a belt per tank of gas on the last two tanks. Sounds like you may have an idler going bad and pitching when you get on it. ....they are all new and freshly inspected. Thinking it may be the spring mechanism in the tensioner. If it relaxed a little then bam...or something like that. I need some energy to go out and yank it all off AGAIN. When I replaced mine it was a fun adventure on the 4runner, but worth it. The tensioner on the Jeep went snap after I changed some stuff, not belt related. Fun-fun-fun. At least it's easy to change
  12. You call that dirty ?
  13. You riding carbon ?
  14. I'll add this to my hooning music:
  15. woot Can't wait to have the Miata up and running again so I can go for some late night hooning
  16. You can get larger DC isolated power supplies for less I think I got a 3A one for as much as you payed and it charges the Note2. Another 500mA for the miniDSP, the Pioneer fix on one of the amps and no more noise.
  17. You know what's funny ? I want a 16:9 format screen at home. And the local used computer shop has some btichin 24" HP monitors, used, at a tad over $100.
  18. Good luck Brad ! ! !
  19. The Jeep's PO was a firefighter and he said "I'm not wearing a seatbelt, I've seen a lot of bad accidents because of it". Riiiiight... My GF doesn't like wearing it around town...one time I had to brake hard and she hit her knees on the dash. Guess who's wearing a seatbelt all the time now?
  20. I paid $180 for my PPI. i think this minidsp unit is the equivalent of the ppi deq rather than the dsp-88r. There's not enough difference between any of them to justify more than a $20 price difference. Still too much IMO. I'm looking to buy some new dsp's I think. in between cars I had my minidsp's in a box and my dad accidentally damaged them, at least that's my current theory. I'm still diagnosing the problem but it sounds like I'm overloading the inputs with my behringer uca222 (im hearing some static and popping) but changing the jumper didn't help. bypassing the dsp and going directly to the amp fixes the issue. But there is also some dependency on air temp which is making me second guess everything. I don't think my Behringer overloads the inputs on the minidsp's in my truck. I also may have never turned it up all the way though either... Very possible my gains are hot enough to melt the fuck out of anything but I am not concerned as I don't run it hard pretty much ever. Ya I think i'll get more aggressive with the gain and see what happens. found my ghost. vlc on android. I can go from one song in vlc with static to the same file on winamp w/o static. I've had massive pop when changing tracks because the EQ was on to give me L/R balance. I don't have a processor in the Miata. Accidentally turned off the EQ, no more pops
  21. Mine failed at the Austrian/Hungarian border, so I had about 400 miles to drive before getting home. I had my Ctek charger among the tools and decided to just drive fast. Viscous heater bearing shat itself, the pulley rubbed on the coil and made some horrible burnt plastic smell. So I couldn't drive fast. But we got home...
  22. LOL reminds me of when I heard a ping and my belt tensioner broke. No more power steering and alternator. I was a mile from home.
  23. I've got the plum brandy ready.
