  1. Fuck yeah, scored a 9 (out of 10) at Saturday's exam
  2. You could do it easily without a cnc. No need to have square holes in the braces, I always use the router and go crazy with circular cutouts. A hole-saw works good too. Off-set the mounting of the horizontal braces and then you can use screws to hold them in place while the glue dries.
  3. Yah, browser open and I'm watching Band of Brothers.
  4. I'd love to get my hands on a Warhorse. It would be quite a change from the plain old zenon based stuff.
  5. You can epoxy it in place IF you can align the coil right. I'm thinking about warranty, a bad glue joint is a bad glue joint, contact PE, see what they have to say
  6. Sort of...
  7. I edited silly, re-read it and got the idea. We're on the same page
  8. You must have missed the first sentence of my post. Air being displaced is what matters most. How much power or how big of a box it takes to get that displacement is irrelevant. Tuning frequency is the next important factor as a lower tuning means a lower port velocity, which means you can get away with less port area. Maybe you thought I meant the physical sub displacement inside the box, not the air the cone will be displacing? Box volume and power DO matter in how much cone displacement you are going to have. If you look only at cone displacement simulated for a given box / volume combo, ok, roll with that but don't say box volume and power don't matter. I'm not stupid, I understand what displacement means in this discussion.
  9. It's been snowing non-stop for 14 hours. During the day it was a bit over freezing so nothing stayed but now that it got colder we're getting a good layer of snow. Seems like it's going to keep it up for a couple of days.
  10. Since you mentioned the NSG, any estimate on their timeline ?

  12. Here are some pics of a recently restored salt mine. Bare in mind that light in a mine isn't good and pics were taken with a modest point and shoot. Going down to the main hallway: The main hallway, you can actually cross under the whole hill and get from one side of the city to the other All the walls look like this: Stairway to the main chamber: Top of the main chamber and looking down: Chamber to the side of the main one, with a small lake on the floor: Chamber description: Miniature golf course, ferris wheel, bowling alley, amphitheater: Looking up from the floor of the main chamber: Looking up from the lake, towards one sealed off entrance: You can see the elevator here, again from the lake: Extraction machine: The echo chamber (it was actually a ledge above the chamber, all you could see is pitch black and the echo gave you chills, I could count 5-6 reverbs): I hope to visit again, with a better camera or a more organized schedule
  13. That is incorrect. And I have done tests to prove that for an ideal port area (maximum output/area) box volume and power applied will be the main factors. For a given power and box (including tuning) the woofer will move a certain amount. That amount will dictate your port area.
  14. What does the look of a sub have to do with a coil failure ? This feels just like when the gen 2's came out. Very few people believed they would perform like the first gen's. OMG, it looks so out of the box, it can't be good.
  15. Was the detailed 'recipe' posted earlier ? They look delicious
  16. Oh goody goody I get spend money That's just about perfect for what I need them
  17. Adrian_D posted a topic in General Fi
Any timeline on the N3's except the 2 weeks on the website ? I'm ready to buy a 12
  18. I just want an amp that will do 500 or 600 watts x2 at 4 ohm's in stereo. That's a BEAST You were the one talking about the Zapco 1000.4, it does 500 x 2 @4ohm! There's a few others I have found, the Sundown 200.4 take's the cake at 615 watts. I never looked at bridged specs...
  19. I never tried whiskey in large amounts...people here seem to be big fans of Jack.
  20. I just want an amp that will do 500 or 600 watts x2 at 4 ohm's in stereo. That's a BEAST
  21. Paint must be dry, one more panel to assemble and then it's carpeting time.
  22. I remember the bus was late to pick my bother and I up a couple of times since it couldn't even make it up the hill we lived on. Everybody is going soft and losing common sense, that's the reason a small snow closes everything down.
  23. Romania. more exactly the unofficial capital of Transylvania
  24. Balanced transmission is widely used in networking (my networking exam was yesterday). The amplitude of the signal will be the potential between 2 wires. For instance, if you want to send 5v on an RCA, you will have "0V" on the jacket and 5v on the tip. Interference will change the signal. In a balanced connection, you would have 2.5V on one wire and -2.5v on the other wire. That means that no matter what interference you have in the car, the voltage difference between the 2 wires will almost always be the same. But I want 150w / channel first and foremost Hahahahahaha you said on the tip. J Dirty minds...
