Metabos are pretty much the best thing out there. I remember growing up, nothing topped a Milwaukee back then. I have used Dewalts for yrs and they seem to take a beating. I personally got to have one with a paddle trigger, not a switch. I have never tryed a Metabo. One of my favorite attactments for scribing logs, the Sir-cuts-alot. That thing looks very dangerous

I'm not sure sure about that a lower gain setting provides more headroom. Simply because the gain knob is just for level matching. But if you can provide a link to the article I'll happily read it Proper setting will give you more amplifier headroom than if you had the gain setting mismatched. This doesnt make the amplifier make for power. Which is exactly why I asked about the article...Had I found that, I wouldn't have interpreted it by "low gain setting = headroom". Anyway...just for fun...we used an Ipod as source for a 4 channel + sub amp, so at most 1V of clean output. Needless to say, it was easy getting the amps into clipping.

Snow-up-to-your-ass top

It didn't warm up here yet. We got a couple inches only. My cousin, who is a postman in the mountains called me today and said the snow is "up to your ass". If time allows a trip would be awesome...

No fun here... I might head up into the mountains to look for snow. This "poser" snow is depressing.

If it's a toss of coin, 3000w with a lower level and there is room for upgrade. But if you need to save extra and plan to use the full potential into this specific install, we're back to 2000w

Hmmm, payed $2 for a badass hose clamp only now to find the manufacturer sells them online for 50c each. Even with shipping it's going to be less than what I payed for.
