  1. I killed the hop with my Ultra-related joke
  2. Or, you could say "these work, just listen to them, measurements don't tell the whole story"
  3. Crap, I thought my burn marks from welding almost upside-down sucked...
  4. It doesn't need to withstand gobs of power though.... IMO an SPL coil should have considerable amount of wire. I wonder if DD would build that with an 8 inch spider, would be fun to see.
  5. Thought he was just merging sections. Nope. Everyone he has recently banned are getting searched and anything even partially annoying to him is being cleaned up. I'd bet this pertains to those that are still there as well. He has gone so far to remove ALL posts by some people. Pure Genius !
  6. 1997 Grand Cherokee Limited Nice, pics are mandatory
  7. Lada Niva
  8. All depends on how gain happy you get. For burps I'd say it will be fine with that much power. For music, daily, there's a high chance of a recone thread.
  9. Absolutely zero motivation to work on homework
  10. Congrats Neal ! ! !
  11. If it was indeed ELNA it should be at least half decent. That one can be used to test if only the cap is at fault.
  12. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son
  13. We should pony up for a run of those
  14. That whole car screams of fail. The car fails big time. The thing I am wondering is how is metal compared to wood. Any sound coloring? How thick should it be. Just wondering tho, plywood is so easy to work with. I think that car is local to me as most Polk Audio show cars are around the Baltimore area as that is where Polk used to be based at before it was bought out I thought. The Polk subs I played with were actually good stuff !
  15. That whole car screams of fail. Couldn't agree more. It's even green, like some horrid puke.
  16. Gotta love steering wheel knobs. Although I'd find it weird on a car
  17. Had some today
  18. My mouth is watering....
  19. Once the radio stations have quit playing her songs obsessively, I find most of them ok. Add some M1 love on some of her tracks and they rock
  20. Can I have one for each day of the week ? On weekends I wouldn't mind keeping the jeep..
  21. Wagon's are making a come back! DAS WAGEN ! ! !
  22. No kidding. Shopping cart would be an upgrade. Roomate Sean hates PT cruisers with passion. It's actually weird how much he hates them considering he doesn't have his liscence yet. Convertible PT Cruisers are HORRIBLE ! They really look like a hooptied shopping cart...
  23. Hey Tony ! I personally had 2 positive experiences with increasing port area. Both were with the same speaker (BTL 12), both in an spl setup. 1. Going from flared 6 inch to straight 8 inch, SPL was the same. Adding flares to the 8 inch gained a little over 1dB. 2. Going from flared 8 to flared 10, gained 0.8dB. Granted, the 10 was ghetto rigged so I might have gotten a bigger increase with careful install. Both of these gains were observed on high power burps (over 3500w measured) On the second situation I tested at low power (~1000w) and there was no difference in score. IMO, if you are chasing tenths, go for the most port area you can fit. If you listen to music, shoot for port area equal to 1/3 of the cone area. If you don't get chuffing at high outputs, you are fine. The 1dB difference will probably be inaudible.
  24. Always try before you buy !
  25. Guess I learned something new today
