  1. Radioshack legal lol by legal I mean he actually was on a real mic. He just has the radio shack meter for shitzengiggles "real" mic? As far as I know the audio shop in town has a real setup and competitions on the reg. Never been there so I don't know there setup I severely doubt they have a "real" mic. Not many people are willing to pay for what would truly be required to measure in a calibrated fashion and even if they do, they don't know how to use it. I'll do a bit more research. Duran sounds like he could be correct They have either a Termlab or an Audiocontrol, since they are an audio shop and host events Fixed your quote too
  2. Walls are too much for my ears. "listened" to 2 15's on 9000w...walled...don't want to repeat the experience again.
  3. It's no wonder by any means, really Need to test sub up port back and them doubleing up panels.
  4. Radioshack legal
  5. I'm pretty set on the ScanSpeak HDS. For the mid I was thinking of the ER18 that you had mentioned. I have a concern, that may actually not be a concern at all, about this. While looking at the frequency response graph I noticed that there is a drop off down low. Higher than I think I would like? Maybe not? ...help me... I'll be running a sealed Dcon for the subbass department. HDS Adrian, do you have any input on which mid to run? 6-7" I'd run the ER18. Some improvements over the CA18 and the latter mates up nicely to the HDS Yummy false floor, love seeing birch builds.
  6. Seeing IB installs always makes me want to buy a sedan Good work !
  7. Where's Nikuk with his spl skills when you need him ?
  8. Getting closer ! 149.3 with 3 batteries. Interestingly enough with a threaded rod as a brace I lost score. I still have work to do on the enclosure if I am to reach the 150 goal with only 2 batteries.
  9. The cops were on a fucking power trip.
  10. isn't that "you're just waking up" ?
  11. Thanks and you have pm back
  12. Thanks ! The odds of me competing against you at the same event are...slim Unless I make the 6000 mi trip.
  13. Since we are talking about pulley's, when people are talking about installing an underdrive pulley what pulley does that refer to ? Damn gremlins ! Hope you are going to sort them out ! You can either install larger pulleys on the accessories, or a smaller drive pulley. All you're trying to do is slow down the accessories (alt, power steering, compressor, etc.) or reduce parasitic drag. That's one more mistery solved
  14. Update : 2.8cf box, 8inch aero done. Efficiency is the same as the previous car but having a crappy battery drags me down a lot. 145.3 with 900w and 148.9 at full boogie, engine off and 1 800cca starter in the back. So still 1.1dB under the goal. Box moves a lot during burps, time for some bracing.
  15. what the eff ?
  16. May have saved a lot with the oil cooler parts. Found a sandwich adapter with thermostat for $50 picked up. It's oem, it was mounted on the same engine as mine but on a different car and seems to be woking good ! Tore down and after a short wash in diesel :

  19. This is from last St Patrick's day, local pub :
  20. Barely above freezing for well over a week and it snowed like it's the middle of December. After it stops snowing, the sun comes out and melts everything. Couldn't even put masking tape on the flare mold because of the cold
  21. Happy belated birthday !
  22. Much easier to adjust the tuning with the external port. For me that has been the main reason for external. Round vs slot ports, some swear by round ports. Which are also easier to flare. I've seen solid gains from flares only.
  23. x2 You can use fiberglass over the holes, that would my pick. Glad to see another sound quality oriented install
  24. Did a quick box build, 2.1cf so we can keep it in the cargo area and got to testing with a BTL 12 which had the long coil. Different car, peak freq and electrical but we got some good scores. Stock Z1 (which didn't like clipping from the stock HU) scored 149.6 @ 42hz. Back seat was down when burping. Next week, 2.8cf box in the Jeep
  25. The reason you only have guesses is that in such situations simulations will only take you so far. Also having them in the same box is not a good idea. Very different specs means very different enclosures. Finding somebody who tested both is one thing you can do. Or listening to both. Up to this point I managed to get a single btl 12 as efficient as an old xxx 18 (which reached the limit, couldn't find ways to increase the efficiency).
