  1. Why? Its whatever new version of gorilla glass is isn't it? Sure it is, but still isn't unbreakable. Non-glass screen savers SUCK I've never broken a screen and I gave up on screen protectors a few years ago. My current phone has a sapphire screen though and haven't had an issue. You have a Kyocera? I've been in the three plants that could have made those screens...You also carry yours in a big ass Otterbox as well don't you? I am a caseless guy and the thing to protect with no case is the screen. I've never used a screen protector before either as they look like shit. The glass ones however don't and will solve my biggest concern. I use to rock the Otterbox. I gave up on them a few years ago when I kept breaking the cases and clips. Yes, it is a rugged Kyocera Brigadier so that sure helps on the no case front, but I'm not easy on phones. I didn't have a screen protector on my last two? phones before this and never ran into a scratching problem on the screen, the wife and brother have a Droid Turbo with no screen protector and hasn't caused any scratches yet. I know gorilla/sapphire/etc screens aren't unbreakable but won't a glass screen protector shatter right along with the regular screen in an event that it breaks? I've never used a screen protector either. I've also never scratched a screen....but I did break a screen for the first time a month ago or so. Just leaned on something with my phone and keys in my pocket. A screen protector would have saved that wear for sure.A mild blow it would also save IF it were a glass one. A sacrificial surface in my mind if it doesn't change clarity and feel is absolutely not a bad idea. If it does, well then fuck it I gamble. I have a glass screen protector on my Moto G. It's scratched and I'm planning to change it. Bought my girlfriend the same phone and installed the screen protectors at the same time. Hers is cracked in a corner. Better have the screen protector crack instead of the actual screen.
  2. HAHAHA, that's cheap. I payed $2500 to register the old Jeep (sued the state, got my money back), about $1200 to register the Miata (all expenses, even $150 for some fucking homologation). For now the tax payed for the Miata can't be recovered by court but I'll sue their ass whenever I can.
  3. Bitchin !
  4. Touareg, Cayenne, Gallardo, ALL automatic Audi's, they all use the same part number.
  5. Feck knows exactly. I don't have clear info about the temperature it's supposed to be at. I've read one claim that it should be over 120-130F. Seems like VW, BMW and Mercedes use thermostats on all of their radiator cooled transmissions. VW opens at 162F, Mercedes and BMW at 175F. Ford uses them on Crown Vics post 99 (I think) and they are part of the A/C condenser. Judging by the models using the Mercedes thermostat, they started using them for the NAG2 (I have the NAG1). A lot of E and S classes with NAG1 (in-tank coolers) have had the coolers rupture, thus blown transmissions. Mercedes even sells a glycol contamination tester kit. Figures that since I'm going to have the external cooler and I have such rotten luck, I'll ditch the in-tank cooler, use a t-stat and add a trans temperature gauge when I take off the pan. I already have the gauge and sender.
  6. Running the trans too cold is not going to be an issue, looks like VW has an in-line thermostat set for 162F, $30 new. Purfect. They use it on anything with an auto. Bye-bye stupid in-tank cooler.
  7. Kind of bummed that the fix doesn't hold. But i still have 2 weeks until leaving on the trip. Still need to build the downpipe and figure out a small airdam.
  8. The fix on the overflow tank started leaking and came off way too easily. The section on the radiator is leaking through slowly, after 300 miles
  9. So, superglue and baking soda doesn't like hot antifreeze. On Monday I will boil some epoxy in antifreeze. Bison brags that their 5-minute epoxy works up to 100*C. If they are conservative, it should be fine boiling it
  10. I bet he can suck a golf ball through a garden hose ! I think that's his warm up. I believe his real act is suck starting a diesel. J Mine was a quote from full metal jacket :F
  11. Exactly. There are things now like more than 2 valves per cylinder, overhead camshafts... Even my diesel is DOHC. The LS 4.8 I cited doesn't have 2...but it will still rape any Grand National motor. Not having a completely modern Fuel Injection system is retarded if you are building a car. Obvious exception is old shit with a carb, but once you go injected use a modern piece.I knew that and i implied that it's a better choice to run something more modern and by more modern i meant more efficient.
  12. Hell yeah ! Is that huge new cooler in front for the tranny ? The cooler is the radiator for the supercharger. I may have to pull it off later and add another tranny cooler.Interesting, so you are running a charge cooler, nice

  14. Hey now, I'm still doing it....at least 2 years ago I did it. Now with all the development in the APM my interest for SPL went way down.
  15. Congrats. I found it actually quite simple, although I only had to fix some text file parsing.

  18. 3 weeks and the bodywork guy hasn't done anything. I'm picking up the car today and probably taking it next week to the Subaru dealership. The guys there are really cool and said it will probably take them 3-4 days and cost about as much as the guy the car is at now. If the cash flows right, I could have it ready by July.
  19. I have no fricking time to finish up the mounting panel in the dash All the parts for the install are here: resistors for the otg + charge cable, miniDSP (although the i2s DAC is still only built on paper), phone, amps, speakers.
  20. Yes it is Adrian and your tools don't stick to your skin. Back in winter I had gloves but my sleeves were up so that my hands fit between all the parts. Still MUCH easier than on the old Jeep. Never had to do it but I saw what was involved in a starter removal.
  21. That looks really awesome. It looks badass ! ! !
  22. That has to be fake
  23. Looks like it's a big religious day today and being that my family is religious and my girlfriend is religious, no work will get done this afternoon :|
  24. I dunno, maybe I make poor choices that end up costing me work. For some strange reason the driver's side caliper outside pistons were not pressing the pad right. I pushed them back in with the bleeder open, then started pumping the pedal and bled them a few times. I HOPE that gets the outside pistons working right and it did not work right because there was air in the caliper. Before this operation the caliper seemed to flex, as if most of the braking force was on the inside pistons. Now it only seems to flex a tiny amount. I can't imagine not having the calipers centered on the rotor would cause that. The outside pistons should just slide out until they hit the pad and presto, "self-centered"..
  25. Bodywork guy has not started on the car yet. I'll call him today, if he doesn't get started by Friday, I'm taking the car back. This is unacceptable. He tells me to bring it to him before May 1st, so he can start, now it's May 20th and still no work done. Plus some excuses that he can't get epoxy primer.
