What Aluminum Alloy?
well yes but the cost is just to much and i know for the price alum is great to. Just want to know wich alloy is better for electrical Just thinking out loud, if you want to thread it I'd pick something that isn't very soft. Did you look at brass as an alternative ?

BTL 12 enclosure suggestion
Hello. I've got a BTL 12, the new model, with the spl gap, short coil and cooling and I'm looking for some ideas on a box volume I can use for burps and keep it mechanically safe. I had an old 1.3cf box laying around so I used that for some quick testing. The highest score with all testing was only 147dB on 3600w clamped watts. The actual power to the woofer will be a bit over 4000w once I get good battery. The goal is to score 150dB out of this single 12 and the small box is 3dB short. This is how the 1.3cf box looked at the end of the testing: I also tried all combinations of sub / port facing except both of them back. A max volume suggestion would be useful as I can cut down the box untill I find something optimal for my setup.

I Got The Wrong Speaker
There have to be some cheap options, you don't need a high-precision measurment. I got my AC clampmeter for $15 and my cheapest dmm for $10 I believe. Most cheap ones will read the resistance of the probes, you don't need to hold the probes together before measuring.

I spent a significant amount of time deadening my doors and truck and all and I was at the school one night jamming to music waiting for a friend to leave the dorm and when she came out she said she could hear my music from about 50yds away. I was really surprised. Couldn't imagine what it would be with out though. In my truck you'd think I don't have a sub. Perfect for me and definitely noticeable that it is there. Now that I have things dialed in a bit I sometimes get the feeling the sub is off Still have some tweaking to do on the midranges- Welcome to the IHoP
Email don. Good idea ! And I'll have to email you some more of those archives- Welcome to the IHoP
Speaking of deadener, I need to figure out a solution for the roof of the Jeep. Jacob's results were nice but I wonder how SDS in 25% coverage would work in both reducing the horrible resonance and gaining some score.- Welcome to the IHoP

I love the idea of Lambo doors. SO when some D bag parks too close I'm not stuck. I've heard people hate them though. I would have gotten them for the cavalier otherwise. The doors on that thing were ~4 feet and needed to open 10 inches just to clear the frame. That's the only thing I would find them useful for. But gullwings should be better ! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a9/1955_Mercedes-Benz_300SL_Gullwing_Coupe_34.jpg I'm a small guy and had troubles with them installed on a hyundai coupe..about the same sized car as a cavalier ?- Happy Birthday Duran

I despise lambo doors. Only had to get in a car with those things twice....first time I hit my knee and second time I hit my head.- Welcome to the IHoP
Im pretty sure i can fix everything disconnected with some solder. I just didn't know where that one terminal looking thing went. Its a Sound Storm 1Fd2500. Are there only missing parts ? Weird... There's no missing parts that I'm aware of , the parts that are there are just broke and disconnected. From the heat i guess. Just going by parts visibly broken is a recipe for spending money on parts. Lost of things can go wrong and show no sign. Parts don't "disconnect" because of the heat.- Interested in multi-inserts, massive battery bars and fuse blocks?
Extra edges give extra mad deebeez Have fun with it when it starts to corrode. Just like I've seen some "experts" around here who scaped tinned ring terminals because "pure copper is better than tinned".- Welcome to the IHoP

Fuck cheap french cars. I have never seen such a stupid door panel. The whole window mechanism is attached to the plastic door panel.- Welcome to the IHoP

Absolutely beautiful weather today. Found a neighbour who builds hydraulic hoses for a living so the burnt hoses on the backhoe are sorted. Also found a brake fluid reservoir at the local u-pull. Saved $200 by not buying from the dealer Hopefully we can start it up without the electrical wiring and lift it a bit to work easier under.- Welcome to the IHoP
Are you talking about the post on CA? If so, I may be a little off, as it has been years. But from what I remember they loved a larger box. A little peakiness was dialed out but so was a little of the power handling. Nope, talking about the personal convo with the box specs. I simulated it and according to bass box it's ok mechanically.- Now Playing!

Baffle + port walls, box for an Orion H2 12. And check out my uber cool work bench, I can barely work on anything bigger than the "box" in the pic Thanks Aaron for the box specs- Rules of Aeroports
You can always put a bend in the ports, no need to keep them straight. Plumbing shops have pvc elbows. The distance from the port to the back wall should be at least equal to the diameter of the port. - Welcome to the IHoP
