Horns in spl applications...
I think I may have somewhere the plans for a Cerwin Vega horn, I will have to look. Folded is definately what I want, or I'd need a bus to fit it non-folded. Having something that could extend into the 30's would be a good plus Why enclose the rear of the speaker in a ported box ? Thanks for the feedback so far

Horns in spl applications...
I've been toying with the idea of using a horn in a spl application (one note wonder, as efficient as possible) for a few weeks now.. Instead of a regular wall, with the woofers and port on the wall, me and a friend had the idea of using a horn, with the opening as the whole front of the wall. It would be a front loaded horn, exponential, loaded with some sort of efficient pro-audio woofer, not the "horns" that have popped up in the car audio scene. Apart from the difficulty of fitting a horn (around 22ft long for the woofer I'm thinking about, should be shorter for a very narrow bandwidth), any problem with using it in such a small space ? Or any sort of other problems which would make such a horn useless for the application ?

After sitting in a car which metered 150dB+, I fail to understand how some people can drive in those conditions. Massive ear pain in 10 seconds after entering the car and "listening" to a few bass lines

Remember the H701 I was selling... The original owner did some research, talked to the guys here who compared it to the H701 and decided to keep it and not buy the Bit one.

As far as I've read, the H701 is a bit over the Bit one. as in H701>Bitone? Yes.

Pixorz from this weekend : This car placed 6th or 7th place at the European finals. P9, Brax front stage, Genesis amps, Hertz Mille 18 sub. Awesome sub-bass. Midbass had some resonances. Mids weren't so awesome. The tweeters on the other hand were very nice. Friend's car. D100+H701, Scan D2904, L4, 10's in the doors, Audison amps (4 channel Thesis on the mids / tweeters), JL 12w7. Mids / tweeters are awesome. Midbass isn't as good as it should be but the 10's stay for now. 12w7 was pretty impressive. Better than the 13w7 and a bit under the 13w6v2 as far as quality goes. And 2 pics for you horndogs

Can't comment about the whole Europe and the warning signs because I haven't been out of the country for ~2 years.

If you don't speed you won't have a problem. Not to mention it's in school and work zones, which are the two places you'd want to not speed anyways. how on earth do you get that? 57 vs 55, what is their reasoning for giving a ticket for that? i thought cops were supposed to protect and serve. who the fuck is getting hurt with a 2mph over? nobody, but the govt sees a way to make $$$$$, pigs don't protect shit anymore, they just push us further into the totalitarian govt that this will soon become, all because people are AFRAID. and yes i realize just how ironic this rant is with my avatar. further more, 2mph is just over 3% over the speed limit. How accurate do you really think their radars and cars speedometers are? And keep in mind all those rating they give for radars are under the BEST of conditions. I'm not sure what kind of methods they'll be using for ticketing but +3% is stupid. As a pharmacist i can fuck up your treatment by 10% and you can't sue my ass, why on earth is speeding more tightly controlled? about the protecting part... speed cameras are the complete opposite of that. they're actually kind of dangerous. traffic is flowing along nicely and then a camera comes up and everyone has to slam on their brakes. just this Saturday I saw a truck flipped on the side of the highway right next to the cameras (actually took one out, lol). I can make a pretty good guess what caused that accident.... and what about a tire blowing out and you need to get over to the shoulder immediately? oh wait, there's a 8" diameter steel pole right there.... Exactly how it is in Europe. They sell camera warning detectors that warn you when they are upcoming too. Taxation without using brains is what that is. Those are fricking expensive. In every area where there are cameras there are indicators to show that. Haven't seen any crashes yet because of the cameras.

Just got back from Bucharest. Fun times at the car show, didn't enter the actual car show (where all the women posing next to cars were) because of the ridiculously high ticket price. I still managed to get a couple pics

Speaking of coffee, there are some people in school that have a cup of coffee with them all the time. Every fricking time I see them during breaks they're holding a cup of coffee. wtf ? *note, when I say coffee I do not mean some drip shit you can carry around. If coffee isn't extracted it isn't coffee. I bet those puckers dress like idiots too. They drink it but I do believe it's some crapola coffee. I don't drink coffee very often.

That would be the bomb for a boat- Question about component speakers
thats what its sounding like to me, if you looks around you may be able to find a few used components for cheap, or on clearance, another thought would be to find some good coaxials (jbl cdt vifa and others of the sort) but i would definitely do the sound deadener, it will make a huge improvement, and then go from there, also, clarion is great quality stuff, although not always the most user friendly I think it's pointless to add sound deadener if he's going to run coaxials or something cheap. It will help, but will it make them sound 'good.' I doubt it. i dont think its pointless at all, 1. it will cut down on road noise, 2. it will improve midbass response, ive even heard of people getting quite dramatic differences with stock speakers. for what hes wanting to do, a set of good coaxials may be the way to go for him as a good set of components can cost upwards of 150, and some coaxials of the same quality may only cost 80-100 I would much rather save the money towards speakers then deadener ive had my system for about a year and still no deadener. And what part of "stock speakers" would need to be deadened haha... I've seen big improvements on the way the stock speakers perform in a properly deandened door compared to a stock door. Especially on the midbass.- Audiopipe AP-30001D Guts
Having 2 boards in the same case, with only one power terminal means you have to run wires from the terminal to one of the boards.- Welcome to the IHoP
