Examples of how to waste your money on deadening
And now there's a link to here in that topic Why oh why deaden the rear seats ?

Audioque 1200D
You are just picking a diffrent heatsink, that's it.

sealed box size
I think partsexpress has polyfill. Fabric stores should have it too.

Welcome to the IHoP
I can still hear a lot outside the car, even though, except the roof, all the panels are pretty dead Have you tried a foam material. I have no understanding of why, because from what I understand 90% of deadening is just adding mass, but layers of foam on the roof made it sound so much more dead than just the deadener. I wish I would have put expanding foam in the supports before I put sheets of foam over the supports, but it really made a huge difference. I can't tell you why, but it made some kind of difference for me, in a big way on the roof. You need a barrier, not just a damper. The damper helps with stopping resonances, but a barrier can actually block sound. Aluminum backed vinyl is great for this. And I still haven't found the time to check shops for those materials

Subs blown in 1 minute.
After they tear it apart they should get a better clue of what happened exactly [off-topic] how wide is one of the boxes ? [/offtopic]

A perfect hu, does it exist?
Clarion had a single DIN model, with touchscreen, that had the processing power for 2way front + subwoofer. DXZ955MC Double din touchscreen, with lots of processing would be an Alpine touchscreen with the H701 processor.

Subs blown in 1 minute.
Could very well be a bad recone job. One (expensive) option is to have DD rebuild that sub and try it again. If the install is ok and it holds up, it was definately a bad recone job. If it doesn't hold up...that's the expensive part And you can point fingers at the install. Did you send DD them some specs of the design ?

Subs blown in 1 minute.
Do we have to guess volumes and tuning ? Maybe somebody had some experience with 9917's and can figure out if the volume is ok for the power you have...but without some more info nobody can figure out exactly what happened. I remember reading about someone mechanically damaging an AQ HDC315 in one of Pete's designs. Too much volume for the power he had. You could take some pics of the subs after the damage, maybe that could give some clues.

Question
Can you please type in english instead of ghetto ? I'd cross the RF15k off the list. The Warhorse is interresting. Also, 4 SAZ 3000D's would work very nice. Electrical upgrades for 4 3000D's are going to make a big dent in the budget.

Subs blown in 1 minute.
Or maybe a sloppy install ? Give us more details on how you installed them, what kind of box, subsonic points...

Dont you hate that type of stuff.. I felt such an urge to be a douche in return to the way he acted

Working on homework... And I was really pissed on a TA today. Dumb-ass was acting up when I asked him to explain something. It's like I should know everything and I go to school to show it off, not to learn. Total douchebag.

And ironically, the Volvo is pretty quiet outside, even though it meters over 140dB under 40hz

no +1 for sharing, way to be a douche bag i was sharing the music! and i can only fit so many people in my car. we even tried squeezing the sub that i had when teh fire drill went off in my car! he threatened my friend that if he didn't gtfo he was gonna tell the real teacher that he was swearing, cheating, throwing chit (yes he said chit), punched a whole in teh wall (the sub accidently put a hole in the wall during class =]). but then the fire drill was over in the middle of his sentence you really think all those people not inside your car really wanted to hear your music? I realllly don't like hearing other peoples music. I can deal with it in traffic when the person is passing by without to much of a problem, but when the vehicle is stationary and I can't move out of the range of hearing its a pain in the ass. I don't like other people hearing my music. That's because you'd feel embarrassed if anybody heard your Celine Dion, wouldn't you? hehe Most definately My heart will go oooooooooooooon.....

Did I blow my subs?
The "bass kicks" are higher bass frequencies, which should be handled by the front speakers. But, if you don't have front speakers that perform well, you could cross over the subwoofer at a higher frequency. Try a higher crossover frequency.

1996 Jeep Cherokee
A reference 1000.4 would be a nice fit between the ag750 and the spare tire Amp rack, before sanding and paint : Right now the paint on the rack is drying. Still need to make a beauty panel over the amp to protect it from damage.

Welcome to the IHoP
ummm, no? i remember thinking it had anti locks, turn right and grab brakes....it did neither. meaning turn or stop, lol. that's a fairly large area, i thought i could just do a quick 180 or so and be on my way. boy, was i wrong! and it was early evening, no rain, so no really wet grass, maybe damp. but tires on the car are < 3 months old, brakes ~ 1 month. hell, i don't know. the whole thing is just flat weird. and to top it off, the last two days i've developed a pain between my shoulder blades, centered off to the left. sends a stab of pain up my neck whenever i turn my head to the left. and i can't sleep worth a crap. so i get to call my chief today and see what he wants me to do. yay for me. thanks for the concern tom. like previously mentioned, i was way lucky. did i mention that that was the only time that day i didn't have a seatbelt on? yeah...talk about timing. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee What the heck, that timing was awful I hope the pain is nothing serious.

It came together really nice. Love it

rlp 18's wired in series?
2 voice coils on the same former, wired in series is absolutely fine. 2 voice coils on diffrent formers isn't that good because of back emf and a small phase shift. ( I really can't remember all the details). If you are buying 2 dvc2 subs, just wire the coils on each sub in series and then wire the subs in parallel.

Hmmm, an amp rack is in todays plan for me as well. Get some pics. I'll keep my camera in a pocket And you still have to get pics of the cd player dash trim.
