  1. You said once that the spectrum un-dried itself. Does it have any problems with moisture ? I want to do the wheel wells in the Jeep and wouldn't want it to get fuxored up when it rains outside... Once its dry its dry. The problem i was having is that it wasn't completely cured and then the humid weather rolled in. The stuff that wasn't completely cured "undried" and the stuff that was cured just got dew on top of it, just like anything else would. So I would say after it is completely dry it would be fine in the wheel wells, but I would make sure I prepped it well because I had some on those plastic door panels that split and it can pretty much peel off after that. I really didn't think about the wheel wells... hmmmm lol but I would rather use the new spectrum because it dries a lot darker other wise I would have to paint over it The wheel well idea is something I saw on youtube...a clip about using second skin products. My diesel Jeep isn't the quietest thing out there. I hope some spectrum and LLpro can quite it down some more. SS is going to be imported over here (shipment should be in late february) meaning easier acces to materials Can't find anything that resembles LLpro or Spectrum.
  2. I hope it's not ridiculously priced. For me, neo is a plus because of shipping weight
  3. FUCK. I accidentaly deleted my Opera history and I had quite a few tabs open

  5. Looks like a very good job
  6. I recomend silicone to fix holes in surrounds
  7. Would you mind elaborating on that more? The way I understand is that the amplifier achieves maximum output for a certain input voltage so the gain knob only reduces the input voltage to that level. Higher gain = more voltage to the input and if it is over the voltage needed for maximum output, you get clipping. I know from first hand experience that you don't need an awful lot of input voltage to send an amplifier into clipping. Just using the headphone output from an Ipod was more than enough in my case. this is how i have always had it explained to me, the idea that the speaker "doesn't care" what quality of sound it is producing. yet, i have heard many say that they can "blow" a 1000 watt speaker with only 100 watts....does this claim have anything to do with a clipped signal or are there other factors involved? I think that blowing it up has something to do with mechanical stresses. Considering the case of a coil rated at 1000w, and a box that can keep the cone motion withing the mechanical limits at that power level I can't see how you will "blow" the subwoofer with 100w, square wave or sine wave. Otherwise, that claim is rather stupid. Does a speaker connected to a 100w amplifier always receive a 100w input ? We would blow speakes all the time when listening to music ar low levels. By integrating the function which represents the waveform you obtain the area under it's graph which, iirc, represents power (rms, but I may be wrong). Integrate only half a period. Because half is positive and half negative, if you integrate a whole period you will get zero.
  8. I got my money back on that thermal grease. Phew !
  9. i believe you are mistaken sir. round ports are not treated the same as slot ports Surface is surface ? I know some turbulences can appear in a slot port compared to a round port, not sure if it's a very large concern in the case of a setup which plays music all day long. Shine the light please DIY flared ports are a nice idea too.
  10. The W7 can lick my nuts. I'd love to see your reaction when you hear the one I heard... This whole "lets bash JL because all the cool kids are doing it" routine is getting really old really fast. Don't get me wrong, in no way did I say it was a bad product. I have heard a JL built vehicle with 2 13.5" W7's, but I was not that impressed. I am not a conformist Adrian. I do believe the W6 is not superior to the W7 in output, but that insignificant amount of output has a huge price tag; a price that I feel it is not worth. Yes, the price may very well not be worth it if output is the main concern. And I have to say I'm a bit biased towars a good sound instead of ridiculous output.
  11. Hmm, I wonder if I should sell my 9835 and buy a H701. There are a few floating around and I can sell the 9835 for ~$350 here...I'd only have to pay shipping out of my pocket for the H701...
  12. Lots of options for paste. This time I wanted to buy a larger quantity instead of the 2gram seringes.
  13. Nice work on that headphone stand
  14. Me = pwned. Went to a small electronics shop, asked for thermal paste and got a small jar of silicone paste. All labels were in polish and I couldn't understand a thing. Smeared the trasistors on the Z1, put the board in the case and it acted funny on low power tests. Took the amp out of the case. This evening I searched for some info on my thermal paste and it turns out it's thermal insulation not thermal conduction paste. Sweet. Back to the shop first thing tomorrow. I can only imagine the horror of blowing up the amp because of the stupid insulation paste
  15. Rms coil ratings aren't too important in when determining how much power a subwoofer "needs", in my opinion. Heck, I'm using an old xxx on 400w and I can get it to rattle my room apart. I even used it in the car on 2 channels of a kx350.4 and played way over what I can call decent. Funny thing is, if he gets the BL now and upgrades to a much more powerfull amp in the future, he's going to be ask himself why he didn't buy the BTL in the first place...
  16. Damn, talk about jumping the gun. I wonder what that kid did to get shot so quickly.
  17. Hands move to cover the ears or open the door and get out. Done that with a lot of people.
  18. Oh boy. That is one of their main exports so they'll be losing a lot of money (in their already tanking and hyperinflation-ridden economy). No wonder they are putting up such a big fight, if Ukraine builds that pipeline then Russia will begin falling off of the world power map. And their feelings will get hurt because they won't feel needed anymore. It's not Ukraine who wants to build a pipe to buy gas from Asia. It is a European Union plan. Ukraine had some un-payed debts to Russia, they stopped the supply to them and the ukrainians stole gas going to the rest of Europe. Heard a small report on the radio about the whole deal.

  20. Time to study for my Technical writing exam
  21. I'm not disagreeing with that, I just wanted to make another point about it. And that is that much of self sufficiency comes from having plentiful resources at home. If a country has all of the natural resources it needs, yeah it can be self sufficient. But because companies here decided to outsource 3/4 of their manufacturing jobs (seemingly), and we import oil, we can't be that way. And on a side note, not all of Europe is self sufficient. Russia is trying to put the squeeze on the eastern side. But I get what you're saying. Much of western Europe doesn't need to deal with the world's BS problems like we do because they don't have their hand in every country in one way or another. Edit: Posted this before reading Adrian's post on it. Nothing like first hand knowledge. Stay warm buddy! We're ok for now, I hope it won't get any colder. The russians are upset because Ukraine is opening up relations with the west, including adhering to NATO. They also want to urgent the build of a gas pipe through the baltic countries to sell gas to Germany. EU has planned for quite some time to build a gas pipe and import gas from Asia. I'd love to see Russia then. Who are they going to sell gas to ?
  22. damn, pic isn't working anymore
  23. Sweet price. Thanks Ryan2. I'll wait a tad more, untill it heats up outside and I can start working. Don't want to spend all my reserve in the middle of winter
  24. Nice ! How much was that small laptop? In case I missed it, can you tell me a model ? Or some quick specs on it ?
