Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Police stopped me in traffic 3 times... Once for speeding and and twice for running a yellow light. I spoke politely with them all times and got off easily in two instances except one... Riding my bike to work , early AM, raining and I ran a yellow light. Absolutely no danger since it was a pedestrian crossing. They followed me, stopped me after 500 yards and were basically dicks. Law says we can ride on the road if there are is no bicycle lane. They told me it's illegal to ride on the road since we slow down traffic...bull-shit. "We should suspend your license and fine you $200 for doing this", bull-shit, you don't suspend my driver's license when riding my bike. They followed me another 500 yards to make sure I don't drive on the road, I had to ride on a narrow sidewalk where I couldn't avoid pedestrians. Yep, dicks. Their biggest issue at 7AM was a lunatic riding his bike in the rain and running a yellow light. And I mostly pissed since I did not now the law about bicycle lanes before that event.

for good tires The Miata started to pull to the right more and more. Switched to winter wheels/tires and the pulling is gone. I knew the summer tires were bad but not that bad. Also the Jeep was unstable even after alignment and new tie-rods. Tires looked like shit. New tires and it's all sweet.

Happy Birthday Bigjon!!!
Happy Birthday ! ! !

Mount the tire on the roof? J No way, That's how it was when I bought the car. I don't like it. I'll just buy some PPI Ion amps. Guts look good, testing shows they do rated power. The 900.4 I have in the Miata is dead quiet.

Well, fawk, looks like none of my old amps fit under the seats of the new Jeep. NICE.... I wonder if I can find a narrow spare, that way I could keep my old amps.

The PO of the Jeep spilled grape juice (a lot of it) in the cargo area. I found traces of it under the carpet in front of the car. So I had to take out the rear carpet and pressure wash it. I found quite a lot of pem deadener on the floor but I also found mouse droppings, corn seeds, wheat seeds and a lot of dried up grape juice. Gross.

Without a backhoe anymore, a large snowfall wouldn't be as fun as I think. But I still have studded tires for the bike.

No joke, this is from WKBW in Buffalo. The Southtowns are where I spent my teens, Cheektowaga/West Seneca area. They traditionally get more snow than the city and northtowns. For Sean... NYS Thruway, I90 Oh Buffalo... how I miss thee... or not. Yes, I would like a big snowfall in time for Christmas.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone, Oh no. I am so sorry Adrian. What was your pup's name? She will be missed. Her name was Laika, just like the first dog in space. It was a bit rougher for dad, today he's going to the local dog pound to adopt another dog.

Started putting the dog on arthritis treatment, not much help. A couple of days ago she started looking far worse, like she was fading away. Took her for serious investigations yesterday: collapsed lung, dislocated heart and cysts on her spleen. Doc said 2-3 weeks at most. This morning dad calls, she died overnight. It happened too fast, at least we tried all that we could

I'm waiting for winter to try out the new Jeep. Should be pretty interesting with full-time 4x4 and lsd's front and rear. No more donuts in round-abouts

Really? I enjoy schnitzel, they have some pretty good schnitzel restaurants in Berlin. And some good greek food (not as good as in Greece, still good)

That connector plug is readily available, but a PITA ti line up right and rotate the lock to get disconnected. Common issue on the Mercedes trans, but irritating. be patient. Found it in stock at the dealer, $10. That along with the gasket should cure the transmission oil leaks. A few more bits and bobs on the engine and that will cure oil leaks there.

I drain and fill the tranny and siphon a gallon of coolant out and top it off with new every spring in the 4runner. I suspect the transmission was never flushed since the torque converter can't be drained. And it has water instead of coolant. Should be pretty quick. Last night I took off the blower fan off the Miata to try and lube it, it was noisy, and while disassembling it I managed to fuck it up. 1 week until I get a used one, damnit. I need to ghetto-rig a fan in there.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I still need to flush the transmission, change the connector plug and pan gasket (both are leaking), change coolant and it's ready for winter.

Switch to Chrome or Firefox--the rest is fucking garbage. Chrome is also fucking garbage. A fucking memory hog if you have lots of tabs open. I drifted back to trusty ole' Firefox. I fire up Opera at times still. I use mostly Opera but Mozilla is open for facebook
