  1. Yesterday I almost broke down, seeing how my dog is. She can't get up anymore, she can barely walk and when she wants to get up she barks to let me know. Taking her to the vet today to see what we can do
  2. This weekend I got a ride in a Audi Quattro with the 2.2 turbo. It was making about 25psi boost and it was madness. I couldn't breathe until he shifted into 3rd. Spent the Saturday afternoon helping another guy weld back his wastegate to the manifold. Cool bunch of people and they offered to cut any flanges I need and build a manifold when I want to turbo the Miata
  3. Once this is up and running we need to post a topic and brainstorm ideas for a wireless multimeter.
  4. I've had too many troubles with TermLab cables, wireless is the way to go
  5. Did I miss something?Punk kid smashed in the doors on the 550 just days after I got her back from BMW touching up some paint and a final 50k service. She has been in the shop all last week as of Monday. Uhhh... Sorry to hear that, bud, I trust everyone was OK? Yeah, thanks for asking. 10 mph but he hit it right in the B pillar and skirt, so both doors. I was really worried about the frame as front door didn't open. Upside is the doors will be perfect, including the little chip I had. The frame and b pillar were all perfect. All the original mechanisms are perfect, glass will match, and it gets new gaskets. Shop was awesome. Helga is back
  6. I do this all the time. Both times I had to work like that I removed the seat. Much more comfortable.
  7. I didn't know you were ballin like that!? Ballin' on a budget I paid just as much as for the previous one when I bought it, but it's already registered, as a 4-seat utility vehicle, so $100 yearly tax. Slightly higher insurance and road tax. But still less total cost per year. Previous owner fixed the injector issues, ZERO rust and all I have to deal with are some minor oil leaks and a diesel leak.
  8. You gotta do what you gotta do
  9. The replacement Jeep: 2.7 Mercedes diesel, 5-speed Mercedes Auto, all the bells and whistles Ignore the sports rake, I bought it with 2" spacers all around and only had time to remove them from the front, so I can change all the tie-rods and do an alignment.
  10. We want to have a solid product, easy to use and affordable, that people can get support for right from the ones who built it
  11. It was probably self-contained in Africa, all the people infected died before they could move to a different location and spread it.
  12. Need to find a nicer switch
  13. TL guts and APM guts
  14. You won't find them yet. The photo is of the first prototype, there's still some work to be done. True, groowe and I are working intensely on it as I'm typing
  15. I have to get back home, I'm still at the office.
  16. Pictures coming? J Yes yes
  17. Well, I bought the replacement for the Jeep Already registered, as a utility vehicle, so yearly tax is $100 compared to $300 for the Jeep. Diesel, 4x4, automatic, better highway mileage than the Jeep. A bit rough around the edges outside.
  18. Changed the timing belt, water pump and crank/cam seals on the Miata on Saturday. 6-hour job, I say it was pretty quick for my first attempt. Also lubed the window tracks, door locks and door handles and changed the scratched up windows for 2 nice ones. A full Saturday and I'm done with all maintenance on the Miata. After I fix the Jeep, the Miata goes under the knife/angle grinder for fixing the rust. I need to build some big electrolysis tanks to clean up smaller parts. And I've found a place to buy epoxy primer from. They sell Lesonal / Akzo Nobel epoxy primer. Sadly, I couldn't find DuPont.
  19. I should shut up now
  20. Damnit I almost got into a head-to-head with the Miata...Idiot in an Audi A7 was passing a lane full of cars on a 2-lane road. Almost turned around to follow him and smash something on his car.
  21. That's fucked up
  22. *sigh* Last week I sold the backhoe and that was Cummins Turbo I'd LOVE a Ram with Cummins.... This thing does 10.26:
  23. So I might as well do it right if the heads come off to change the lifters: ARP head studs New head gasket New lifters VNT Turbo New intercooler Resealed injection pump If it still gives me issues after this I'm putting a bomb in it and put it on youtube.
  24. Got the Jeep back up and running and surprise... When I got back from the trip the idle was very rough, made little to no power under 1500 rpm and smoked at idle. I said the turbo is fucked and pugging up the exhaust. Nope, it's the same now. And I'll be damned, it had this rough idle issue very randomly in the past but it lasted a few seconds only. So I guess it's a bad lifter / bent pushrod. That would explain the slight tick I kept hearing over the last year.
