Re-check your wiring while the amps are in testing. That way you're not wasting time and reducing the risk of more damage once they get back Everyone can make mistakes.

Be conservative at first. You could try it on one 3000D, at 1 ohm. If you smell anything funny, stop wanging on it and lower the gain a bit You can also set the amp for ~2.5k. No need to use the "whole" amp.

Fucking A. 2 diffrent comps this weekend. Both db drag style, one organized by a guy who only participated once and each car competing must pay 20$. I have no clue about the other comp... I hope the other guys in the area are going to come up with ideas. I miss listening to the Volvo. The whole 5-10 minutes before I get sick

That's the way you should do it. Put the probe on x10 (so you don't risk frying the o-scope with a high voltage) and "wire" the probe on parallel with the subwoofer.

I would go with a single port for ease in building the box.
