  1. What kind of tones do you guys use ? 0dB, -3dB, -6dB ? I've used the 0dB tones a few times. Worked ok with the gain setting for my mids but when I used it for the subs in 2 installs I had to turn up the gain (after setting it) just to blend the sub in with the front stage. I read everything here http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=4256 but except Jmac's post I don't think I could draw a conclusion for myself. By ear is good enough for my car ( I just need the sub to blend in) but when it comes to getting the full output on music, 0dB tones haven't worked
  2. You should set the eq and bass boost to where you think you are going to use them. Suppose you set everything flat, set the gains and then add 5dB of bass boost. You will get a clipped signal around the boost earlier than the rest of the spectrum.
  3. lol, a friend and I were just trying to figure out wtf admittance is a couple days ago. we think it's just inductance in an AC circuit. Isn't it the inverse of the impedance? Winnar ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Admittance Next week I'm going to study all that crap for the final. Lucky me
  4. I hate retards that can't take decent notes at lectures. Who the fuck writes a whole semester "S" instead of "n" ?
  5. RHCP - Other side
  6. Sounds ok to me. I'm not sure how noticeable is clipping at those frequencies though
  7. Tried that but excel showed some gibberish I managed to download it. I installed Multi-mail notifier, forwarded the email to one of my other accounts and checked the email through the program.
  8. I've got an email with an .xls attachment, but it's not the usual attachment which you can download. It looks like it's "embedded" in the email. I tried to save it as text and open it with excel, but it doesn't work Anyone know how I can download it ?
  9. I gots ideas for crazy hard bang yo Blow up my car
  10. Just an FYI for your friend, he'd need a heck of a lot more cone area for it to work as a passive radiator. One 12" out of 5 isn't going to do it. I bet it goes boom like so
  11. It's called a BFH There is a crimper . But at $40-$100, fark all that noise. Here's my billy' way. Strip the end of the wire first, about 1/2" or so. I clamp the ring end in a bench vise. Blast the barrel with the torch until solder will melt. Then fill the barrel about 3/4 of the way full of solder. Then jam the stripped wire into the solder filled barrel. Takes a couple seconds to solidify completely. Those things are freaking expensive over here
  12. Congrats James
  13. It's called a BFH
  14. Nice work man ! This time it looks like a solid build.
  15. Wait, you got a toe along with the subs ?
  16. A Beetle sure isn't the place for ONE 18, let alone 4. Even a low ported 12 would use up too much space in that car. In 2 years time a lot of things will change.
  17. Relax, finals here are just starting. Imagine studying all through June
  18. Deep cycles have acid too...
  19. You can build one to use up the entire trunk. Just use FG only for the panels that are curved and mdf for the flat panels.
  20. $6.5 / gal for 95. Diesel is a bit over. It's been the same level for ~3 weeks.
  21. Noone should joke about things like serious accidents. Build looks uber-cool so far.
  22. Glad to see you guys had a blast this weekend
  23. Well, the day started good. I'm waiting for an email with the prices of some 6V cells...hello 3200A short circuit current. 18v would be possible...and that means Z2 Going to get a 12v cell for the Jeep, if the prices are ok.
