Is it bad I find it impressive someone can take a 175 lb. human being and swing him like a fucking baseball bat? Not at all....

Dracula's Droptop
Does it support Android 4.4.2? I think I saw it doesn't... Don't know why I'm stuck on 4.4.2 though I installed it yesterday, it's not finished. With a anti-reflective screen cover it looks so nice turned off.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Too bad. Vatican is my favorite part of Rome. Amazing history, art, and artifacts. At least do the museums. You can spend days there. I might try to go see some tomorrow, but I doubt it. Only got 2 hours of sleep a night for a few nights with this sore throat..... Sick on vacation sucks. Funny you should mention that, I was sick on the first 3 days out of 7 in Rome. First day I got there I was totally off...

Gotta sleep upside down while you're at it. I don't know how hard you're jumping up to the bar but if you're grabbing it while you're body is still going up then that sounds rough on all the connective tissue. I did something similar to the hoops at work...ended up breaking one of the mounts The good part is that I redesigned the mounts and there's no way they are going to break now

Dracula's Droptop
One concern is that I have to root it and install a custom kernel to get help with charging, we'll see. If it's not able to stay charged and with the screen on, I'll just turn off the screen from time to time and keep charging on even when the car is off. 3.1A charger should be good to keep it charged. And I have Wi-Fi signal in the garage, it's going to be easy to transfer music.

The L-shaped metal is bolted to the case and another metal piece bolts to that to hold the plugs in place. Wires soldered directly to where the buttons were. Tested and working fine Hoping I can bolt it in the car this afternoon....

The search is over, I finally bought a hardtop, from Germany. $330 Paypal'ed. And it's in the same city with the courier's warehouse. And another courier picks up packages from there. 6 months of stalking ebay...i was getting tired

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I thought about buying another shell, moving all bits and scraping this. Or just buying another one But: 1. I won't be able to inspect the new shell, chances are there's going to be rust work to be done 2. while there are plenty in the UK, they are wrong-hand drive 3. closest Miatas for sale are over 1000 miles away. Factor in about $500 for buying expenses (it cost me more since I went there to get it), another $800 registration tax and it's a big lump of cash to change it. This was cheap enough at $1600, with some add-ons and technically well maintained. Rims alone are worth $300. H&R springs in excellent condition, leather seats, very good soft-top.

You must really love that car or got it super cheap. No way I would be putting that into it. If it's that's rusty that you're replacing frame rails, you just need a better vehicle. Frame rails are ok. The inner fender is rusted where it meets the frame rail. So thinking I might find rust in the top of the frame rail, I asked them to cut the entire piece. Should be a full-day project to do the left side. Right side only has surface rust.

Cleaning it up: And I've started getting the tablet in, I won't be needing a very complicated CNC'd panel, which I spent 2 hours yesterday drawing... A CNC'd panel to go in the rectangular hole is needed but it's not as complicated as tracing the front of the tablet. I've opened up the tablet and the easy part is turning the USB and 3.5mm plugs 90 degrees and attaching them to a plastic panel. The hard part is soldering wires on the power and volume buttons. Volume buttons will be on the front, power button on the side.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
So I talked to a guy in the UK about buying the inner fender and a part of the frame rail for the Miata. He chopped the whole corner from the shock mount forward. Frame rail and everything At least I now have both sides waiting to be shipped The guys at the shipping company are going to have a surprise

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I hate people who cut in front and force you to brake. Had it not been for the current situation when I need a car under my ass every day, I would have gladly hit him. Or had I been with the Jeep I would've pushed him into the median pillars. That would've calmed him down. Today has been shit.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Same shit was last autumn..."Hey, it's very drafty in here, maybe we should fix the huge gaping hole in the wall, where the window blinds roll up". "Nah, it's fine". 2 months later, somebody else complains..."yeah, it's a good idea to fix the holes".

So it's summer. And it's sizzling hot in the office and the idea of installing an airconditioning unit is out of the question.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Sounds like a serious project. They are incredibly simple and uncomplicated. Given no issues with rust or fasteners, it can be done in a couple hours. Guess what? Rust and rusty fasteners are a big thing in this car. Yesterday I broke a bolt holding one shifter boot. Time to buy drill bits and drill it out. And when I tried installing my front lip, I broke a lot of fasteners. Same with changing the radiator. I plan on changing the misc fasteners to stainless and call it a day. Same stainless fasteners have been on the bike for almost a year and are still super clean.

Sounds like a serious project. Looks like it is, it's more than I expected. Good thing is all the exterior parts I need to buy new are around $500 (cowl cover, window channels, door window trim, turn signals, rocker panels, exhaust heat shields). Come next pay-day I'll sort out all the maintenance: Plugs & wires Engine & transmission oil Timing belt and assorted seals Water pump Fuel filter Found the front inner fenders in the UK. Passenger side is already cut and waiting for shipping. So it will be easier to fix the rust there, compared to forming new metal. I'm going to remove most of the black crud tomorrow. Good weather, pressure washer, brushes, degreaser and camera are ready. Parts are piling up since November (front lip, shifter overhaul parts, timing belt kit)

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
And it was parked almost all its life under trees. There is so much black crud on all seams and hard to reach places it's unbelievable. Yesterday I decided to clean up the tank lid and that area, it was the messiest. It cleaned up surprisingly easy with engine degreaser and a brush. Engine detailing next, I want to have things clean before I change the timing belt.

Miata was in a front end crash about 8 or 9 years ago, fixed at the Mazda dealership BUT there is bad rust on the left inner fender, complete with holes where it meets the frame rail. Luckily I found somebody in the UK willing to chop up that section and sell it. Can't wait to start fixing rust
