  1. i scraped the spherical speaker idea and that means i need a large format tweeter what i have now is a pair of ca18rnx's and a pair of cheap-arse tweeters. i'm looking to upgrade the tweeters and i need some advice since i don't know what to choose. budget : $100 for the pair. i'm just looking for something laid back and not harsh. EDIT : budget is $150 and the IB question. we just finished building a garage and it's adjacent (sp?) to one of the walls in my room. that means i could attempt an IB subwoofer. only trouble is the garage isn't insulated and there is quite a temperature diffrence during winter : -5*C in the garage and about 20*C in the room. would this diffrence render my idea useless ? the motor in the garage seems problematic since the coil can get warm during play...
  2. awesome i'm a bit jealous i can't set up a listening position to have room for a pair of those.
  3. grand cherokee 5.2 audi q7 4.2 jaguar xk just a few all petrol never payed too much attention to big diesels. over here, diesels are far more popular compared to petrol engines. maybe it has something to do with the fact that anyone can get diesel cheaper than the pump price.
  4. i've heard some v8's in town and i must say i love the sound. but a big honkin v8 gets pretty expensive to own in this part of the world..

  21. as long as it's not puffing out smoke like my jeep let's hope it's only a blown head gasket and not a cracked head stealership wants $400 just to take them off and send them to get checked. no thanks, it's just a matter of taking off nuts and bolts, i have a repair manual and i found out where the puckers take the head for checking

  23. i'm not going to take it very far i think i found a plastic panel locally, which means i can get more space by cutting it so this enclosure will either be sold or i'm just going to modify it to get more airspace. but that will only happen next year. managed to cut the baffle today (no pics). jig-saw + flush trim bit = cheap win. it's 31.5 cm's wide and the sub cutout is 28.1 cm in diam, so it's going to be a tight squeeze. not happy with it and an rl-i 8 is not an option right now.
  24. since i was in the car when they called me and it was a bit noisy i actually thought someone from the college called me.
