Bu-fucking-mmer Highest score today was 142.4 dB @ 49Hz, box in a different position and almost class legal. We blew an 80A fuse and measured 50v and 12 amps on the subs. Still holding strong, although I think we will move back to iso-loading. It's easier to tell when to stop turning the volume knob and apparently it scores better. Bracing also hurt the score, it went down to 142.1 @ 49Hz. It helps at lower frequencies but not this high. Double baffle / double bottom would probably work better than bracing.
  3. I have felt a disturbance in the Force!
  4. Epic, I was laughing like crazy when I read this
  5. Some people are drunk at this time of night on Friday, I'm horny...
  6. How to get between her legs...hmmm???
  7. But as for the one on Facebook, I'd still fuck her brains out. Repeatedly.
  8. 99 problems!
  9. This new one on facebook wanted a sponsor, it was so fun acting like a rich snob and crushing her snobby stories. "I'm going to Berlin, London and Amsterdam for my birthday". Partly true but still fun times...
  10. Oh shit, I went on 4 dates with one and let me tell you, she was crazy on the phone when I told her I don't want to see her.
  11. Drop Ryan's name, that usually works with the bitches. Worth a shot although the car comment screams "I'm crazy"
  12. I knew it was too good to be true, still doesn't hurt to push a bit and get a date.
  13. And mark on the list another crazy one. She told me we can't go out since I'm younger than her. Plus she doesn't like my car WTF woman, you ain't dating my car
  14. The one I ditched was crazy in a bad way. Not going to touch something like that again
  15. After dodging a bullet with a crazy woman, I get added on facebook by one which looks hot in the pics. No mutual friends and when I ask if we know each other she says maybe we'll see each other since I have the face of an angel Weird...not a new profile, a handful of people on the friends list, local. A. Directed by somebody to fuck with my head. B. Rapist / kidnapper / axe murderer C. Genuinely interested I can play safe B since if I meet up it's going to be in a crowded place and A seems like a plausible option which I can't rule out unless I meet up with her. Can't say anything for C unless I meet up. I always find the crazy ones. Didn't Matt1 (vladd) have this luck?

We'll see what soldering does as soon as I clear up more time for testing This project has been very exciting so far and having 2 people work on it makes it even better. Somehow I see myself ending up deadening the roof of the Jeep, it's on the backburner and if it helps 0.5 for this project, all the better.

Not a problem and usually even for SPL I've had mixed results. Wont hurt but can't say for sure if it will help

From the frame lip to the box, on the outside, so that it does not leak air.

To my shame, I did not solder the connections, YET. Going to do it today and figure out a way to quickly connect/disconnect. What is the effect of not having them soldered? [offtopic] how close are you to Amsterdam and Eindhoven?[/offtopic]

Yup, locally it is a secret, for memories of old times when everybody was secretive. These speakers really don't have a good reputation so seeing scores as big as these is going to be a shock. Having the info here allows easy reference to see what works and what doesn't

The Civic did 142.9 dB, twice within 5 minutes. All is well, also got the tuning right. After that we cut another speaker hole and went with a normal alignment. No more bottoming out, all that the Steg 800w @ 4 ohms amp could do, the little buggers took it and put up 142.8 dB. It's 0.1 less than the isobaric alignment, with more power. If they survive thermally they are going to be ok, I have a feeling that bumping the tuning higher will get us over 143.0 in the Civic. Next step is bracing, then doubling up the bottom of the box and the baffle. Bracing is not appealing, I've had mixed results but who knows what's going to happen considering the box is made out of particle board.

You've been listening to too much Sub Focus We're doing testing in my garage, where miracles sometimes happen 143 in the Honda today *fingers crossed* Biggest problem in testing is the coils heat up quick and it takes about 10 minutes to cool off and get the same score. First burp I can bottom out the subs easily. By the third burp I have no chance of bottoming out. Hot coils, high impedance, power goes down. If my reasoning is right, the 142.6 could be a bit more.
