Resin helped at least 0.4dB. 142.5 without ductape around the speakers (helps 0.1) and 142.6 holding the rear quarter windows. So far so good, time to resin the outside of the box.

After some testing in the Jeep I managed 142.2 dB, completely class legal, ie box in the cargo area, under the window line. Got the tuning right, I can barely bottom out the speakers but it peaks at 48 Hz, while with the BTL 12 it peaks at 50 Hz. During testing I managed to blow 75A worth of fusing on the Zapco and the coils have never smelled, motors are cold. 1.5" coils taking abuse Jacob's Jeep does something similar, peaking at 48 with a bigger box. So maybe that's just how it works. The box is resined inside, it's nice and smooth, time for more testing next week. Really curious what the resin does, on an older box

it's push-pull isobaric, works fine for now i'm competing in an organization across the ocean, since i'm not from the us. the class is similar to street stock.

500-550RWHP powerstroke? i think so ;)
I wonder if it's enough..

Yay for Detroit Diesel. IIRC the supercharger was used mostly to air in intake/exhaust since it was a 2-stroke engine.

DROP IN TEST DD vs. Fi
Check Project Stupid in the build logs and see what can be done by applying ideas from the theoretical rhetoric in the real world... In my simple opinion, drop-in tests are stupid simply because the box volume and tuning is not optimized. The speakers don't have identical parameters so they won't work the same in that box. Unless there's a very strict requirement to keep the box, there's no point in a drop-in test

DROP IN TEST DD vs. Fi
Drop-in tests are ridiculous... In a way they remind me of "if you peak high, build a small box".

Test in the Jeep, since that's where I know exactly where to tune. Resin inside, resin outside, 2 speakers in a regular configuration, bracing, rounding the edges, aluminum tape on the top side of the box, polishing the inside of the box, subs close to the tailgate (to control excursion) instead of pointing up, MDF box. A customer of mine left the garage with 147.0 and his highest score a few months later was 148.2 IIRC, part of the gain just by gimmicks like aluminum tape, more resin and polishing the box inside. The limit today was cone excursion. Plenty of power, just not tuned right. 800w @ 4 ohm amp

Second burp ever, X-over hurt the score higher than 44Hz, the gain was not dialled in right because we would have clear sound at volume 18 for instance and massive bottoming out at 19. 0.1 from the class record.

You take 2 audio geeks, 2 cars with similar installs and 2 of the cheapest 10" speakers. Add some particle board, a huge port and try to lay the smack-down Here's how the box looks, 2 $20 subs, in a push-pull configuration. It's going to have to fit in the cargo area, initially designed for my car but my friend and I were both anxious to hear the thing before the wood glue cured and it's pretty awesome. The Honda will get a custom-fit box once I exhaust all the ideas in the Jeep. We even did 2 burps with a short port. Considering the end goal for the system is 142+ dB, how about some educated guesses on the actual score today?

I can't remember who built the Pikes Peak diesel truck but it runs a big roots style supercharger IIRC, along with a single turbo. Not uncommon to use a supercharger in a compound setup.

I actually kept my heels closer and I look higher but all in all that's how I do them...time to ask the gym trainer to take a picture at the bottom of the movement. Next week I'll do them with heels further apart and see how it goes.

Fuck it, I tried to add some images, I'll do it tomorrow, getting sleepy now.

What makes a squat "Olympic"? I've read that keeping the heels ~1 foot apart, toes pointed out, weight up high is called olympic squat http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/tya4.htm I try to alternate them one week one type, next week the other

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
About 10 years ago, when dad had the CO2 business he had some space rented in somebody's backyard. And during summer I'd spend time there. The owners had a daughter, probably 6-7 years younger than me and we used to run around and race. Fast forward to now, she's a junior olympic runner, with quite a few wins in 400m and picking a scholarship in the US, to race under the US flag.

New PR for olympic squats, 220 lbs, 8 reps (with a bit of help on the last 2). The local football (not soccer) trainer was there with 2 players, one which I knew, they were training for powerlifting and the coach was not excited about olympic squats.

If these puppies can take the power thermally, it's going to be fun. 2 1.5" coils on a 750w amp. At best 300w actual power / speaker.

You bracing the shit out of it? Nah, it's Project Stupid we're talking about. Bracing at a later time. Interestingly enough, with 2 speakers in push-pull configuration I could obtain 4dB extra efficiency over the 2 speakers in a regular configuration and the same box. Going to test 1 speaker, 2 push-pull and 2 regular.
