  1. Going from 15" to 17" screen feels like I'm at the fuxing cinema
  2. I have to agree, Apple's organization idea is crap. I always use my ipod on shuffle. Get in the car, turn on the HU, turn on the ipod, set to shuffle and done.
  3. Looks like my windows HDD has some bad sectors. Good excuse to buy an SSD
  4. Just bought a used HP 17" LCD to keep me happy until I get the 19" one. Time to design a wall stand, this thing sits 4 inches from the wall.

  6. wtf, it doesn't show up...
  7. How do I close the ads on the right?
  8. Got a blue screen 3 times, Windows wouldn't boot up after that. I ended up reinstalling Windows and losing only my browser data, only to find out that my backup drive refused to work. Lo-and-behold, running chkdsk from command prompt fixed my backup disk. It would have probably fixed by Windows disk too but I had no idea it could do that
  9. I've looked at some 19" widescreens today. They don't cut the mustard, just as tall as my 15" 4:3. Only widescreen I'd consider is 21" plus, which is $30-50 less than a HP 19" 4:3. I'm buying a used 17" 4:3 to use while I pony up for a new 19" 4:3 LCD. Death to widescreens!
  10. I hate mud. During the run up the hill (3rd gear, low-range, give'er'hell mode) I couldn't get the EGT as high as I can on the road.
  11. ^^^ CO2 tanks which went to scrap
  12. Dad was into the CO2 business for quite some time, we had a 40.000 lbs CO2 tank in the back yard used for refilling. Buying and re-selling CO2 tanks was just something extra and when we closed down the business we had a lot of unsold tanks A few years ago we had 30+ tanks 4 to 5 feet tall. 2000 lbs of scrap iron There still are some pretty neat tanks in the garage, from 2lb ones up to 20 lb aluminum.
  13. Which reminds me, I need CO2 on-board air. Cheap to fill-up, plenty of CO2 tanks around the house.
  14. Plenty of mud today off-road. Really moist stuff, would barely stick to the car and I could leave rooster tails behind. Climbing the hill where I almost rolled it last year was fun, at some point I had very little traction and started going sideways toward a side of the slope where I found traction. Tires were down to 20psi, once I was back on the road they felt like jello Took me 2 hours to clean all the mud from the car.
  15. I know Ridgid makes some tools at the same Emerson location I work at.
  16. . It doesn't, it meters the mass. Mass air flow A bit more than the claimed "it only measures temperature" I guess ny sarcasm was not read. Shame on me then
  17. With the way they are built, they more than likely last. VW had a stock 1.9TDI with 150 Hp. That's close to 75 Hp / Liter and they last. It's not exactly apples to apples comparison but for a 6.7 that would mean 500 Hp stock. Mercedes now has a 2.2 liter diesel with 204 Hp. Twin turbo even. There's no comparison between the tech used now and that used 10 years ago.
  18. . It doesn't, it meters the mass. Mass air flow A bit more than the claimed "it only measures temperature"
  19. You know stupidity has reached a new level when somebody argues that an MAF sensor does not meter air flow.
  20. Versatility is key
  21. Reminds me of when I fell on the road to work. Went back home to change my clothes, got the the office and then the pain hit.
  22. Awesome !
  23. The little man is growing up! Yes indeed, I think I was a member when he was born
  24. Just scored a pair of VW Golf rear calipers for my rear disk brake conversion. And I'm getting correct rotors (Merc W124 rear, redrilled and enlarged hub register) in exchange of some work. Fucking drums, I can't wait to get rid of them and have a real brake and handbrake on the rear. Currently my handbrake is useless on any sort of slope.
