  1. Yeah, tell me about it... I'm running out of email addresses
  2. Hopefully I can find time to clean-up the bike. 1 week of very muddy roads and a few runs in the rain and it's VERY dirty.
  3. Now that I'm back to normal, I will poast pics of boxes and porting Today I should be 100% done with porting and cleaning up the heads, including lapping the valves. Install next week. I was pleasantly surprised to see the honing on the cylinders is still there after 110k miles. And the interesting part about the engine is that it has some sort of an integral block girdle. The crank bearings sit in big aluminum holders, which go inside big holes in the block. When the aluminum expands, it presses against the holes in the block. And that way the block is fully enclosed on the bottom side. Good news seeing that I want big boost and big torque at low revs
  4. Aaron, can you please leave this account as it is ? Just in case my old account won't work I will have a back-up
  5. Yeah, that's what I thought at first
  6. I should take pictures of the facility decorations Anyway the perfectionist in me is not entirely satisfied with how the heads are cast (ie long side radius on one head is deeper than on the other) simply because I hope the port walls are not too thin to begin with. What I removed was just surface stuff so little to no effect on the thickness. Only one way to find out if they hold: finish cleaning them up, install and run the piss out of them. Heads studs are the next purchase. Then it's time for a big snail.
  7. And my amazing work bench Can't beat sitting next to the heater
  8. Well, my foray into porting looks like this: Before: Intake short side radius Exhaust short side radius After: Intake short side radius: Exhaust short side radius: Granted it was just a clean-up of the extra lips and small casting defects but it looks a billion times better after going with 60 grit sandpaper with the dremel then 180 by hand.
  9. At least that's my guess as a newb !
  10. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... It will still most likely happen. Starter uses a bunch of volts and HUs protect themselves. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... It will still most likely happen. Starter uses a bunch of volts and HUs protect themselves. Good point. Sounds like a waste of time trying to bypass it anyway. The starter has nothing to do with it. It's the way the ignition is wired. The switched lead opens during the cranking cycle. Weird. My HU is right to the batt and still cuts out on start up......... If the voltage drops a lot when cracking no head unit is going to stay on, no matter how it's wired.
  11. Good riddance then? Who knows he might be back at some point
  12. Post nr 20, time to hit the sack. Tomorrow I need to install the weird SE 15 box of which I wanted to post pictures on Saturday but got denied by the forum
  13. Errmm, you guys aren't concerned I could be a fake Adrian, only taking his e-identity, right?
  14. Everything is going according to plan, my post count is going up
  15. how so All of the other forums are having some very uneducated debates about the Evil, it's cost, and SSA in general. Funny right? Helps you understand why people continue to follow shit bags because their junk is cheap and profit margins are high. Too bad soundpressure is down, you should have seen comments from the local DD dealer about the N3. It made me want to reach through the screen and bitch-slap him.
  16. Hey those are "cute". Yeah. Low seat and some say it's predictable both in handling and power delivery. Good beginner bike(the 600 or 620)? Would be a good step up from the moped, plus I always loved the look of the Monster.
  17. The road to work is horribly dirty, mud, mud, and more mud. I can't congratulate myself enough for the mud guard extension. Now my chain is way cleaner and no more mud on the bottom bracket.
  18. More money for the Ducati Monster fund, I suppose
  19. Supposedly I will finally get the tax exempt which I deserve, which equates to a big raise. WINNAR !
  20. If I keep this up, in 3 months I will pass the flood control and then the fun begins.
  21. Full steam ahead to 1000 poasts.
  22. [#103128] The administrator has limited the number of new posts you can submit within a short time frame. Please wait 15 seconds before replying or posting a new topic. You underestimate my power ! ! !
  23. Hay, I'm new here too !
  24. Did you ever try bending frozen clothes? I always liked the smell once you got them back inside the house.
  25. All new, less memory, older (but not wiser) and with less powers! At least it's the new version.
