  1. Cool Idea ... I had plans to do something similar to my Chevy ... but just never got around to getting it done.
  2. Just so we know ... I'm running nothing larger than a 10. And the company that sponsors me does not make anything larger than a 10. So I will give my suggestion on this if you do not mind ... On the larger subs playing music ... The one that struck my interest the most is the SSA Evil 18 in Senchezzy's truck ... When toned down and blended with the music ... Sounded great !!! So I would say (and not just because we are on the SSA Site) look into the Zcon products ... if you are interested in a single driver ... On another note ... You could look into the DSS (I believe it's Direct Sound Solutions) products on this site ... I've never had a chance to demo his products, but just from reading the post from the owner, I have the sure fire feeling that these drivers are up to par with the Big Dogs ... Just my suggestion here brother ... giving you some options.
  3. LOL ... Man I don't know much about them actually. I just go by what most SPL folks tell me at events. From what I saw, Those "on demand" built drivers held up really good just for being built the night before ... but for stability and musical performance ... Sorry guys, I haven't been around them enough to know ... It seems like what most people read /post on forums and what people actually say /do at events is two totally different things ...
  4. not necessarily ... I seen them guys do ALOT of damn good "on demand" work building / repairing drivers for competitors at MANY major car audio events ...
  5. I don't thing they have an actual "product line" ... but just build custom or repair drivers to customer specs ... EDIT: PSI's primary forum section can be found here ... http://www.down4sound.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?30-PSi-Car-Audio
  6. I was under the impression that every vehicle application is different ... What works in your SUV might not be the deciding factor in a sedan ... I don't remember reading what type of vehicle the OP has for this application ... Electrical and Power can be a BIG factor here, not just enclosure design alone ... Most competitors know their perspective clases really well and use maximum Battery and Amplifier power to their advantage ... Like having to "manually turn down" their alternator charging voltage to class limitations when they pull up into the lane as the SPL meter is being installed into their vehicle ... That, and learning more and more on how to use vehicle resonance to their advantage ... I't just doesn't seem like "Car Audio" any more when it comes to SPL ... Alot of things being done now was practically un heard for back in the Hay Days of Competition ... But with crazy experiment test and tuning ... Who knows what they will come up with next to defy the laws of physics ... Just like Capacitor banks ... Becoming one of the best things going in Major events ...
  7. I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, But While I'm making my strolls around major events ... I have noticed vehicles running higher frequencies are going more and more to smaller enclosures with bigger ports ... Heck, some of them are using nothing but large scale PVC pipe and positioning the enclosures in the vehicles that best performs with vehicle resonance ... and just about every one I see is knocking on 160's door ... especiallly in the CRXs ... Please understand that I'm primarily a Sound Quality guy with ALOT of friends and competitors in the SPL realm ... So this is primarily just an observation ...
  8. Can't remember ... You compete MECA ??
  9. Method 4 is basically how my truck's battery bank was wired up with no problems what so ever ...
  10. Glad to see you didn't get hurt
  11. Most of those trucks have larger than normal alternators for work loads like tractor charging, running compressors / generators, hydraulic booms, etc ... well, you get what I'm saying here ... I basically live in a 2 ton bucket truck with all those bells and whistles a lineman needs to work with ... The alternator should be strong enough to get you started. However ... Its not going to last. My suggestion would be to get 2 batteries to go in the back (bed toolbox or something similar) and then upgrade your alternator as soon as you can ... but I would not run your large class D amplifier off of those stock batteries alone ... But then again, just my suggestion here brother ...
  12. We need to meet up again soon !!! Dang brother ... Nice Amplifiers You blow up your origional engine ... or just doing an upgrade ???
  13. Laying an enclosure on a coushiond seat will not do you any good ... ... And can cause you MAJOR damage if you was to get in an accident and the enclosure turning into a missle headed towards the windshield. I've heard the one about seat belts holding a enclosure down too, but most likely will not do any good ... especially if you are talking about anything larger than a pair of 12s or a single 15 ... just saying brother
  14. Upload them from your computer to the SSA Gallery ...
  15. No way I can make this one ... But I do plan to be at quite a few Lebanon, TN events this year ... Best of luck to all that competes at this event !!!
  16. You're Welcome bro. Glad I could help ... Sorry, All of the pics I have are of my truck and they are on this forum somewhere in my build logs ... I have all of the stuff to fully bag my Silverado ... but we decided we are going to Air Ride my 49 Ford instead ... Best of luck with your ride and please keep us posted on your progress !!!
  17. Yea, there's a few tricks with my 49's install that I'm not planning to let the "cat out of tha bag" until after a few events also ...
  18. I understand Completely Sir ... My apologies for bringing it up ... Man, I know how tough this is ... Best of luck with the move !!!
  19. That means nothing, especially considering how many confused people you seem to know. Seriously, this isn't rocket science. ANY processor that has the capabilities that are needed will do the job. I personally don't see any value in paying that much for a proc. If you do, then stating why would be beneficial. Stating someone uses one is not a reason that adds any validity, in fact it does just the opposite. The "people I seem to know" as you say that use this product is some of the most "active" Car Audio Sound Quality competitors in this industry. One of them winning top honnors in MECA this year Josh Kleckner ... I'm not sure who you "think" I'm referring to Sir. You would know this if you actually went to major events ... It was just a suggestion anyways ...
  20. Looks like you already have the enclosure installed ... Nice ...
