Its funny how you can comment on subs you haven't used and have only "seen used in big builds". Havoc = I was not very impressed by the driver, had good output but didn't wow me in any way. LMS-r = Great driver if you want to go sealed, didn't impress me in ported applications. Axis = Haven't used it but I have a LA Storm neo and it is a good driver surprisingly loud on low power, so if the AXIS is like the storm it should be a good driver but not for the price tag. ZVX = Haven't used and wont after the experience with the VVX DP = Haven't used, isn't my style of sub but have used IA products and one of theirs is one of my favorites. ICON = Good output low end is great. GCON = like the older ICON specs are very close, good output with good low end. What's funny is, the subs I use, you can't buy unless I sell them to someone. Or you build some yourself. Oh and it wasn't just "seen in big builds" God forbid I don't post up everything I do. But carry on since you're an expert in every driver ever made. Never claimed to be an expert but I have personally used and still have most of the drivers you listed or a variant of them. The VVX was the worst one. Don't get all butt hurt and then try to act high and mighty because you use franken woofers that you think are so special. The only person acting high and mighty is you lol. That's wonderful if your vehicle doesn't require any electrical power--which it doesn't. It doesn't... not? Or it doesn't? Like I said, it's not a perfect equation. It has a built in fudge factor to account for your car's draw on the alt and amp efficiency and what not. Would you rather me just tell him to throw in dual 500A alts and 24 G31 batts to run 2k "just to be safe"? Neither are helpful to the OP. IE: 100A alt x 14.4v = 1440watts. 100A x 10v = 1000watts, 1440watts - 1000watts = 440watts. So your presuming the entire vehicle requires 440watts, and the rest of the power(1000watts) can be used to power the stereo equipment. I'm sorry but most manufacturer's don't put in alternators with over three times the power requirement for the vehicle--it economically doesn't make sense. I wouldn't want to be discharging the battery down to 10v on a continual basis either. Perhaps it would be more relevant to simply install all the equipment, and monitor the voltage before ordering alternators and additional batteries. Also presuming that if the voltage does drop severely then the OP will simply turn it down until the necessary electrical upgrades are done.

Good luck shaving 4lb's off a frame. Either way, same effect as taking 4 lbs out of your backpack. Indeed it is. I mean the price difference is exponential, but 16lbs bike vs 20lbs--c'mon.

I agree to some extent, but if you shave enough grams off enough parts it adds up. Though like Sean said it's pointless if it's taken from the frame and components first rather than the wheels.

I'd argue that frame and component weight does matter, but isn't nearly as significant as rotating mass of wheels. That's the other thing with the 29ers is you sit more upright which is probably better for your back. I know way too many people who raced road-bikes, and now have back issues.

Yeah I was just giving you shit since you just did. I haven't ridden the 29ers enough to feel 100% comfortable. I do remember it rolling over shit easier, and seemed to be quicker, but that could have been from the hard-tail vs full-suspension and weight differences.

Most people would prefer a designed driver rather than a mix of parts labeled: "custom driver." Kevin have proven time and time again to be a sketchy person with poor business ethics, so I believe that is reason enough to persuade people away from his products.

What size knobby do you need? In the winter I run chains and studs usually, but play on ice a lot. 26x2.something I tried zipties quickly today but they catch on the brakes, since I didn't have time to get the brakes out of the way. With 9-10 inches of powder I really need good traction, it doesn't work with only the front studded. Pretty much ANY mountain bike tire will work that isn't a 29'er. Are you using a studbacker strip? Personally I really like the chains as well. Both studs and chains are a bit unpredictable on raw cement, but the combo on ice is sweet. For snow really you just need to be in the right gear and be diligent. A 28 is pushing it I've studded my own tire using screws. I head you on the right gear, although starting in high gear is not trivial, especially with a road tire in the rear. Huh? All Mt. Bike tires in the US are 26"ers. 29'ers of course not included. 29' is huge!

I've finally decided BS in biochem, and if I decide to go further after that then it meets the requirements for physiology department and other med. I figure chem and bio should keep me interested.
